Cheers guys. I'll be giving it a good check over for rust and going through all the paper work, believe me. Not too worried about the mileage as I've got a rebuilt JDM engine from my old zed plus leather interior, new scuttle panels and HiDs. I'm planning on restoring it as a project.

Well, there is rust on the tailgate, but if the sills are gone etc I can walk away as he told me it has no rust :)

I'm pretty sure it isn't saab, they've just been cut loose from gm but have applied to the Swedish government for protection. I also saw a bit where the trade unionist responsible for saying this has been criticized for scaremongering with unfounded allegations. There aren't any car plants in the uk that are known to be on the brink apparently. We'll just have to wait and see

I'm pretty sure that they all have the same specs, The JDM was limited to a top speed of 112ish. The 276bhp rating was to keep in line with an agreement between Japanese manufacturers to not produce a car with more than 276bhp. To get round this they simple said the car was rated at 276bhp! That's why all JDM's from that era had 276bhp.

Reason I want a UK one is Insurance is a lot cheaper. I've got a Jspec zed (rust free!) but wrote it off in Jan this year. Because I'm being held "at fault" at the moment import insurance will cost me a fortune.

Thats what I was thinking! Not good enough for my liking.

The bloke has come back to me and offered to get the rust sorted so it will pass an MOT. He thinks it's going to cost around £120 for the work.

Smaller turbos and different crankshaft on the auto. Auto spins up quicker.

It's pretty standard apart from the skyline like rear lights (which I was going to change back anyway!) apart from that judging by the pictures I've seen it looked very straight and tidy and is a '93 manual with full leather interior. But, I agree with what people have said; If that's the rust you can see, how bad is the rust you can't. Oh well, keeping looking I suppose :(
