Finding TDC on compression stroke?
Finally got the cam belt changed today :cowboy:. The problem I was having was that I could get the left hand sprockets lined to the back plate but the right hand side was slightly out and I couldn't workout why. I re-read Jeff's thread and realised I was trying to line them up with the back plate ref points.doh I've counted all the cogs between the marks and they're correct :sweatdrop: Just got to put the tensioner back on and test it. Hopefully all will be well and I'll have changed my first cam belt :sailor: I know it's not a big deal but I was terrified I'd screw it up.

Our cat eats anything (almost)
My eldest cat will eat practically anything, his favourites are vindaloo, very strong cheddar and spicy chilli. He also likes a cup of coffee every now and again. He drinks it by dipping his paw in the cup and then licking it clean. The only thing he turns his nose up at is the cat food I give him, fussy bugger. oh, he also loves carrots and turnip raw.

Finding TDC on compression stroke?

Finding TDC on compression stroke?
The lines on the belt mate, the pulley marks are all lined up with the ref points on the back plates.

Finding TDC on compression stroke?
How do you confirm that #1 cly is at TDC on the compression stroke? I've turned the crank until the timing marks are all in the correct place and no.1 is at the top of the stroke, but the marks on the old cam belt don't line up at all :confused1: What am I doing wrong?

FAO Vodkashots
That would be the best option but I can't afford it at the mo'

FAO Vodkashots
Yeah, you too. They do a cracking job and are really helpful. On another note; I swapped that coil over and same result. Checked the plug and it stank of fuel (which I expected) so I'm convinced that its the connector that's causing that misfire :detective:

Here's the web site of the people that did my alloys mate. As I said, they're just round the corner from me and they do 3piece split rims. http://www.wheelgenie.co.uk/

Whoops!!
Yesterday my parts cleaner was getting a bit low on engine degreaser, so I topped it up with some more out of a tub I had lying around. Went to use the cleaner today and it wouldn't work, it also reeked of solvents. Opened it up and this was what I found (once i'd drained it):scared: Turns out, my dad had used the tub to store some acetone in it and had forgot to write on it  Need to get a new pump now as this one looks like a runny dog poo

A Few questions about the TT engine

99spec front bumper
From what I can gather from Z1 and Courtesy Nissan, the 99spec has slightly different intercooler ducts as the originals cause fitting problems. from z1's website;"When fitting on a Twin Turbo Z32 it is possible to use the existing stock intercooler air ducts, although they do not fit perfectly. We do offer the '99 JDM intercooler ducts for the stock SMICs made by Nissan specifically for this fascia as an option below." So mate, sounds like your on the right track with trimming your ducts.
