  1. The 16-bit ECUs probably have ODB-II management interface, apart from that I don't know what the differences would be. Also, they will probably have been de-tuned for emissions over the years, so in reality probably no advantage whatsoever to replace an 8-bit ECU with a 16-bit one.
  2. There is a guy called John in the Z Club SE area who manages it.
  3. Don't remember 100% because I did it a couple of years ago, but I did read this :- http://s95014253.onlinehome.us/63104/16304.html first.
  4. Not sure the gearbox out makes much difference. Taking the plenum off is the way to go.
  5. Move. Good job, good money opens up lots of opportunities. You can always move back if you don't like it. You'd hate yourself if you looked back in the future and wished you'd done it.
  6. Fine with me, most evenings are good, weekends are a bit hit 'n' miss. I also have a grit blaster, probably not what you'd want for the calipers, but good for discs etc though ...
  7. You may have trouble getting the pistons out without a compressor. You're welcome to come and use mine if you want.
  8. It may depend on where you are going. The US may be difficult about it, Spain etc most likely not.
  9. Digital Fortress is quite good, he obviously does some serious research because there are few technical errors. OK, it's glam'd up a bit for the story, but overall pretty accurate. Think his writing style is pretty weak though and very formulaic.
  10. There are two factors at work here, what it costs to produce and what people are prepared (or expect to pay). Obviously, the higher the second figure, the happier the manufacturer will be. Going back to the UK/US discussion, there will be higher volume sales in the US, even with fuel at $4.50 per gallon.
  11. Happy Birthday !
  12. Belgom is the Daddy of aluminium polishing.
  13. You certain it's running right on all 6 ? Start the engine, put your hand on the door sill, if you can feel vibration - it isn't !
  14. Pull the cable out of the back of the drive and see if the machine runs ok. If it does, buy a new drive !
  15. Clearly, which just goes to prove that we should use the correct terminology in order not to confuse !
  16. Bugger, never occurred to me that we should really call the boost sensor a MAP sensor !
  17. I didn't know it had one !
  18. Never heard of it happening.
  19. No forum name seems to match up, hence no email address, no further clues ....
  20. I think it's called "Edit your details" now.
  21. Just proves what a lottery insurance is !
  22. Firefox 99% of the time. Only resort to Internet Exploder when some web developer has done something so badly non-standards compliant and IE specific that Firefox can't handle it.
  23. For my Series II PTU I used the conversion wiring loom plugs to attach to my existing loom, make it a bit neater. That one is also missing the mounting plate, as was mine, so I made one with a bit of aluminium plate. Bargain of the century for only $30 though !!
  24. On 20th June for £32. I can't work out a) from whom this came, b) why we would be sent £32. Anyone help me out ?
  25. I think I did make a harness for someone, but that one would just plug straight in.
