  1. Have no idea what you mean by a "brake band", but you may find the answer here :- http://www.300zx.org.uk/tech_13.htm

Eh ???? FWIW only one arrow on the driver side of my J-import lights up.
  3. Courtesy use one of the big couriers that have their own duty processing offices and therefore virtually nothing slips through the net. I have found that if you ask for it to be shipped USPS (US Postal Service) then it's significantly cheaper, it takes a little longer and the tax is frequently missed as it's then down to a combination of our import people and the post office to do the collection. One of the REALLY annoying things is that you get taxed on the total cost of the parcel (e.g. $50 of postage), not just the goods, so if the shipping comes down to say $20, then you have a much better chance of a 'borderline' case where they don't seem to bother.
  4. I think you were blinded by love though, not to mention your desire to get rid of the Renault 5. It was only afterwards you discovered just how difficult and expensive Zeds are to fix.
  5. Bollox, that's bad, and a blue one too - there's not enough of us around as it is.
  6. You could do what I did and buy a 'freshly imported' car. I just bought from an importer, rather than asking them to import for me, that way I got to see the car, test drive etc before stumping up the cash. Costs a little more this way, becuase you're not taking some of the risk out of the importers hands and you're not giving them an interest free loan for 2 months.
  7. Maybe, but he does seem to ignore the fact that SAddam has 'got previous' in your parlance !
  8. Only if it happened to be dead at the time. Might show something in the history, but couldn't guarantee it.
  9. Sounds like ignition to me. If it stopped dead then I'd be tempted to say CAS, but as it runs lumpy to start with and then restarts onece it's cooled down then I'd say PTU. Find soneone local, or someone with a spare and swap it over to see. A new one in the UK will be a few £hundred, get the uprated model from Courtesy in the US and you're looking at £160-ish all in.
  10. Call Mike Feeney at MJP. He often keeps stuff like that in stock. If not he will have a rebuild kit and it's dead easy to do.

  12. I think all the cheques will be out of date now - aren't they only valid for 6 months ?
  13. Ahhh, well, you were asking for the online manual ! If someone hasn't yet written the How-To you want, or I haven't yet found it then it won't be there. On the other hand, you could DIY and write it up yourself !
  14. bring yer car round and I'll even fit it for you !
  15. A while back we had one of those threads about where people got their forum names. Well seeing yours has made me want to start that off again - its a cracker !
  16. Too right - women need to keep their strength up for getting the coal in ! ;)
  17. So starting somewhere like here you shouldn't have a problem :- http://www.300zx.org.uk/tech_04.htm Not quite sure why our link is bust though .... :(
  18. If you go to my site there is the link to the appropriate manual pages under each tech section.

  20. Have a similar problem, I get the headers but it doesn't go automatically into the forum. I just select the forum link and all is well.
  21. Just sent you both his phone num, hopefully he'll be around and won't have sent the order yet.
  22. Then get sharp because he was gonna order them today and you might miss the boat (so to speak) !
  23. Have done already and the results have been "inconclusive" !
  24. Would just be a bit easier if there was someone closer.
