  1. I used http://www.fancyplates.com (or was it .co.uk ?). They made the size plates I wanted and they were delivered within a day or so. Not the cheapest but very 'versatile' ! And they're based in Northern Ireland I think ....
  2. For your reference mine say this :- Front Right - 40P00 R Front Left - 40P05 L Rear Right - 40P15 R Rear Left - 40P10 L The rears are UK spec, the fronts are Jap/UK.
  3. http://www.autoexpress.co.uk RX8 as well ... Look under Road Tests
  4. Been thinking about one of these myself. Mainly because I have a Navan gear knob which seems quite long (oooeeer Missus!) and a short shifter should make it pretty tidy I reckon.
  5. I don't mind the rear lights too much, but what I've never been very keen on is the big sticky out bumper. I do however like the Griffith style back end - any photoshop experts care to mock something up ?
  6. That'd be AndyZ by the way .... ;)
  7. £10, if I'm sucessful and you're happy with it.
  8. PM me for home address. Take about a week each due to testing time.
  9. They don't generally go wrong when I fix them ! Where did you get the 2nd hand one ?
  10. Take a look at this for inspiration :- http://www.aus300zxclub.com/tech/fpcu/fpcu.htm

I think it's probably AndrewG's actually and Smithy should have the part numbers. Alternatively, they may be on their site. http://www.samcosport.com/samco.asp?make=nissan
  12. Just looked this up on the Jap spec FAST cd and it looks like the original PTU was used between 89/07 - 93/07, then it's the modified one from 93/07 onwards. Interestingly, there also seem to be additional changes at 97/01 and 98/10 !
  13. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2907250585&category= There is actually one just down the road from here. Apparantely it's the largest in the country, as it was intended to be the government bolt hole. So now we get the pleasure of driving past the amusing signs that say "Secret Nuclear Bunker - this way" !
  14. Calsonic are standard Japanese/Nissan parts. I'll read the rest of you message when I feel more sober. (hic)
  15. So are you back with or without a Zed - I seem to recollect that you were considering selling.
  16. MJP do them I think. http://www.jwa.co.uk/mjp/ Also quite a few turn up on eBay
  17. There's also a place around our general direction somewhere called Hayward and Scott. By all accounts they come highhly recommended. http://www.haywardandscott.co.uk/
  18. My Series II had the same early PTU. Can't remember exactly, but I think the official PTU change was much later, something like 94. Would have to check the parts CD to be certain and don't have time right now.
  19. Sorry, no idea. Can't be that much though - even at Nissan prices (famous last words!) ;)
  20. It could be that the hinge pins are worn/bent and need replacing.
  21. Easiest thing to do wou;ld be buy a copy from the Z Centre, I think it's only about £10
  22. You can get a frequency band expander, I think they're about £80 but I could be wrong. I didn't bother, with it being a 10 year old am/fm radio casette etc. IMHO you're better off buying a trendy new device that inculdes a CD etc.
  23. Nah, gaffer tape and hairy string, you can fix anything with that - it's what rally cars are made of ! ;)
  24. Is that because they should have pre-cats in the US ?
