  1. FWIW my one packed up at approx 30,000 miles, although the symptoms weren't quite the same as yours.
  2. Mine does this too, and always has done. Not every time, but certainly the first time the pedal is depressed hard. My feeling is that it is air being drawn in rather than escaping and it's coming from the servo, which is just behind the bulkhead.

Once is enough - don't be a pain in the butt ! Anyway, you won't find much info on the 350Z here because as you should know they're not officially available in the UK yet.
  4. Apparantely that prog is on US TV this evening, so it will be interesting to see their reaction. I think I read that some group in the US are already investigating him for suspicion of dodgy behavoiur with children after it was shown here !!!! To be honest I don't think he's a kiddy fiddler, he's officially lost it big time though.

Of course .... you were the one I was thinking of !
  7. Any contact adhesive will do fine, it's much easier to use than a two part and sticks like blit to a shanket ! ;)
  8. The dash fix is documented here :- http://www.300zx-twinturbo.com/tech/defroster/dashboard.htm I just used evo-stik and it worked a treat.

You're forgetting a certain Mr Lack or course and there is another more recent member too.
  10. The ones I really don't get are the Jehovas Witnesses. IIRC they believe that only a fixed number (244,000?) will be allowed into heaven when the world ends (next Tuesday evening I believe ;)) but they still go round trying to recruit more people - how stupid is that FFS ?????? Anyway, a mate of mine had a great put down for them. When ever they knocked on his door (usually with their 5 year old children in tow for sympathy) he would just say "Any religion you have to sell door to door can't be that great" and then close the door on them ! :D
  11. Why not have a word with AndyZ, he may have a broken lock with that bit intact. Alternatively if you can make a metal bit it should last forever.
  12. I've got a spare I could lend you. Getting a new updated one would be a smart long term move though.
  13. The new ones are not available in the UK. The recall and new alternative was only made available to the US market.
  14. The difference is not Series I / II as such, but the later model PTU does fit with no problem - assuming that you get the adaptor bracket with it. (which Courtesy provide as part of the package). I have tried fixing PTU's, but it's tricky and I was less than 100% successful.

Some of the pics here may help :- http://www.aus300zxclub.com/photodb/eb/eb1.htm
  16. Neither sound nor vid worked properly on my Windows Media Player. Used WinAmp and it was almost 100%, except for a funny bit in the middle walking around Billing where the video is pixelating.
  17. Actually, I have to say that I don't mind that too much. The rear end is quite good and it changes the kind of bulbous bumper that I've never really liked on a standard Zed. However, putting Ferarri stickers on it is particuarly twattish.

Yup, they would be. And I don't think the auto/man would make any difference. However, it's normal to remove the engine to get to them, but there are a couple of places who will risk the engine in place approach. (Hassle is that you can't get to the gasket surfaces etc easily)

Would that be a red Zed that I saw in that Leisure Park place near that all you can eat Chinese gaff ?

If I've been dawdling for a while in traffic etc then mine smokes if you boot it. Definitely getting a little worse too - that's why I bought new turbos a few weeks back. They'll get fitted when it gets critical.

That was probably detonation followed by blowing turbo seals - start saving !!!

Or one of these :- http://buy.snapon.com/catalog/search.asp?partno=YA8875&search_type=Part&store=uk
  23. Ahh, I was wondering why I haven't had a small avalanche of clocks through my letter box ... Anyway, will do and it takes about a week or so for me to be sure that they're behaving themselves afterwards,
  24. On mine if you turn off the ignition with the seat belts still on, then there is definitely an electrical type clunk from down near the reel somewhere and I'm sure the tension changes slightly. I presume this is some sort of more sophisticated inertia control tha you get on some belts.
  25. Wierd, this worked correctly when I tried it yesterday. It's actually11:41 GMT right ......... NOW !
