  1. I looked at one of these for someone recently and the problem was that the drivers for the USB connector were not loaded. So check in Device Manager, to make sure that it has the correct one loaded, Windows found a working one automatically for me.

Sounds interesting, what's the company ?
  3. No, only one payment on that day and nothing on previous or subsequent days with a similar reference. Suggest you take it up with Paypal to see what happened. Was it definitely sent to our Paypal address, or could there have been a typo ?
  4. Part refund (e.g. less eBay costs) and recommend a garage that specialises in part-worn tyres is what I think I'd do.
  5. Some Paypal payments take about 9 days, unless it is taken directly from a credit card I think. I can't see any payment that we have received from a name that looks anything like yours. Can you confirm the date and/pr Paypal reference ? Thanks.
  6. I don't use the native MS firewall, it's cak, so the Comodo firewall is a good replacement for that. I don't use any other Comodo products, although I may evaluate them one day as they appear good and I don't hear bad things about them.
  7. I no longer recommend AVG and current favourite is Avast, but for low maintenance and no hassle Microsoft Security Essentials is hard to beat. Comodo is a better product than ZoneAlarm for firewalls.
  8. Yes, we received a payment but the owner was far from obvious, so I'd guess it must be you ! Thanks
  9. It's a short number and obviously a personal plate, but it's Stu's initials. So no, it doesn't add any value to the car, but it is clearly a valuable personal plate.
  10. Don't know for certain as it turned out it had already been remapped - just badly, (or so they told me. Apparently, boost was massive but the rest of the map was rubbish). It now has a map from a very reputable German company. Anyway, don't believe the computer, I can make mine read over 50mpg with careful driving, but it's lies. However, it has now done 150k and is going strong.
  11. It also seemed to crash the red button on Freeview, although it did still work on Freesat. £600K in about 20 mins, all for Fern in a swimsuit !!
  12. Mine is the 184BHP model. MPG is now between about 37-43, depending on type of driving. And that is real calculated MPG, not the lies that the computer gives which is optimistic to about 4-5 MPG.
  13. My 330d has been remapped and it's great. Should be about 210 BHP (up from 184), but more importantly 350 ft/lb torque, and this is the old 2002 version. It's not fast at the top end, but the day to day driving experience is brilliant.

  15. As eBay has come to dominate the market then prices have risen, which is understandable. Now there are few bargains, so it's just come to be a place where you can buy stuff quickly, easily and conveniently. I usually check eBay to find out the sort of price you should be paying for something and then look elsewhere to buy it. Sometimes companies have cheaper prices on the own website rather than through eBay - obviously they don't pay the eBay fees then. What does annoy me going to each new site that you have to create an account, password, enter card details etc etc etc., that's why eBay is convenient, couple of clicks and it's done.
  16. The browser is just personal choice, I use Firefox, but Chrome is very popular and Opera has quite a lot of devotees these days. I recommend Avast over the other AV packages, although Microsoft Security Essentials is also free and pretty good. Firewall wise, I recommend Comodo.
  17. I think some enterprising (bored) Administrator may have done a bunch of them at some time - I'm sure it wasn't me.
  18. I just checked and your Subscription expired on 5th Feb. You should have got an automated message shortly before it expired, but they sometimes get caught in spam filters.
  19. Hmmm, oddly hypnotic ....
  20. I would say only change if you are getting Sky cable. My basic philosophy for broadband is to use the company that provides the wiring. If you have BT wire then use BT, that way, when it breaks, you don't get trapped between your supplier (with their call centre in India) and BT (with their call centre in India), both pointing the finger at the other.
  21. How about three buttons, labelled, Puke, Pee, Poo
  22. I can think of no reason why keeping the cats would improve torque, it doesn't make sense. It's like saying, "stuff something up your exhaust and get more torque".
  23. In that case you can probably set you Hotmail account to auto-forward to your Blackberry email.
  24. That must be manually added in some way, there is no link between the forum software and the membership numbers I assign in my spreadsheet.
  25. I suspect you can get Gmail to 'collect' your Hotmail for you and Gmail is slightly less likely to be blocked.
