Your friend spoke to me and Paul C on the stand yesterday. It you keep having to top up your brake fluid then I think you can safely assume that it's brake fluid leaking out the bottom. You'll have to get the car jacked up and take a look underneath to see where it's coming from. It's should be pretty obvious if it's that much. It could well be one of the solid pipes that's rusted through, in which case you'l need to replace the whole length, and probably others too for a) safety, b) MOT.

That is normal for the windy wipers. As far as I can work out the final stroke is to park the wipers - they go a little lower than the normal stroke. I would love to change it but I think it's integral to the control mechanism.

Have been to Vancouver quite a few times myself - love it. Also Montreal which is kind of like the US but with a hint of culture.

That's true, you can put an auto ECU in a manual car, but not vice versa.

Hurrah, mine is ready too with the brand spanking new gearbox now installed. (Well almost - a few things I have to do in addition, but shouldn't take more than an hour)

I'd try to get someone to agree a fixed price for the engine rebuild rather than an hourly rate. But aside from that £45/h doesn't sound too bad. You can easily gain 60hp just by raising the boost and chipping it, of course of you have decent turbos, good intercoolers and stronger pistons then you may get a little more and it'll last longer.

Not wishing to play devils advocate here, but I don't think we do. 5 shots at point blank seems a little excessive to me. If he is one of the terrorists and there was a threat to life (police and/or others) then that threat needs to be neutralised. Maybe it was heat of the moment, maybe some of the shots missed, but we don't want to see police in court accused of murder/unessessary force etc. when they should be out catching these *******s.

A jap spec screen would be about £700. I guess you'll end up with a UK spec one. And just in case you don't know the difference, UK have blue tint, Jap have bronze.

Looks like it could be dummy devices - proves a point though that the services are still vulnerable (and of course causes terror)

Not sure yet how much of this is un-coordinated panic and how much is real incident. Guess we may have to wait a while to find out.
