  1. I presume he has jap spec alloys, UK ones will look better and not need spacers.
  2. Good point, but I doubt whether he 'knew' the car was a bad'un. It took us a couple of evenings to rule out very minor problems before it became obvious there was a real problem.
  3. If it's the guy I'm thinking of then Topless should be able to put you in touch with him.
  4. They ain't bolted on matey - it's the wheel nuts that hold them in place - unless you're referring to the little screws which don't really do anything except hold the discs in place when you're putting the wheels on etc.
  5. Quite expensive too !
  6. Strewth - that is a bit of a mess. Glad to hear that everyone is still alive.
  7. Don't completely follow your reasoning. If it takes 10 revolutions of the engine for the oil pump to fill the lifters then does it matter if the spark plugs are firing or not ?
  8. And you'd look pretty damn stupid if they could prove it !
  9. Got done for £20 last year !
  10. I suspect they will suss it pretty quickly - it's their job !
  11. Maybe my red looked brown ! There should be four wires connected to the clock: Blue/White is power from the Accessories circuit Black is the earth connection Green/Red is connection to illumination circuit to dim the display when the lights are switched on. Yellow is the permanent 12 volt battery connection.
  12. If you don't want this to happen then cut the green/brown wire on the loom side plug or green/white wire on the clock side socket.
  13. It's only the first year, hence the higher first time joining cost.
  14. Easy to say in retrospect of course and quite correct, but had we planned a load at JAE and only 6 people turned up because everyone was going to Billing we'd look pretty stupid too. Billing is being rescheduled anyway, so hopefully we won't have wasted any of the money we spent and everyone will be able to get along and have a good time.
  15. Guess you softy Northerners just can't cut it. You ought to try New York, Philadelphia, etc etc if you want the big city experience. London is a breeze by comparison.
  16. It's Lal Toofan, an Indian lager brewed from rice.
  17. Well setting aside inaccurate boost gauges there are only two levels of boost to my knowledge (and it's difficult to find documentary evidence of those). Standard and extended. This is because the BSCV's are either on/off - as controlled by the ECU.
  18. I think you'll find that safety boost is the same as std boost, eg ~7psi.
  19. Yes it can, but a manual ECU won't work right in an auto. Ideally, you should chip it and change the maps too.
  20. That's what Mac has but the Synchro is still knackered. Someone was talking about different internals, probably Kirbz.
  21. I reckon graphite would look better than black.
  22. You have it !
  23. Most old diesels, German ones are especially tolerant. French diesels to a certain extent, best avoid Lucas fuel pumps though - Bosch is best. Any non-HDi diesel will run on up to 50% veg, need to be very careful with the modern high pressure systems though.
