  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/6740261.stm OK, so they did a little better than our 167 (or whatever), looks like it cost them a bit more though !

  3. LOL - the million dollar question. My view is that if the seals are already damaged then the cats could be masking the problem. If they're not then you'd probably be OK. I've probably done 35,000 miles with no cats and the car smokes no more nor less than it ever did.
  4. My boss has a G35, it's pretty good. The back seats are a real squeeze for anyone except his kids I reckon. It still sounds like a 350 but because it's US they have a semi-auto tiptronic kinda gearbox - much easier to get on with than the notchy 350 one.
  5. Just disconnect them and poke the wires up through the holes in the floor. Then seal the hole with a grommet.
  6. I'd recommend getting an RPS clutch because quite a lot of people here have them and they work well. Our forum traders such as Smithy or MJP would be a good place to start. That one on eBay, I've not heard of.
  7. You want to measure the resistance from the PTU plug through to the coil pack plug to verify whether it's broken or not. May also be worth measuring from the ECU plug through to the other PTU plug. http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/manual/manual/diag/001.gif Can't work out which pins are which from this - you'll have to experiment. Start with a working one, eliminate the other working ones and the last one will be the faulty one - probably. Ultimately, you'll probably end up replacing the plug, it's really a question of how far down the loom it's broken.
  8. Have a search for a BlitZ install manual, I suspect they will use similar wires for all gauges.
  9. Yeah, meter out the wiring loom to check for a broken wire.
  10. Really ? Not at all ?
  11. Sounds to me like the new switch is a different spec. and needs different connections. With a bit of careful thought, a multimeter and the manual you may be able to reverse engineer it - good luck. I suspect buying an identical ignition switch will be easier.
  12. Dunmow Tyremart are top blokes for tyre fitting (they really know how to use the wheel balancer) but I've never used them for an MOT. I do however know a guy nearby who seems to have a very sensible approach to the MOT test and I usually take the Z there. It's never failed - wherever I take it.
  13. Man cannot live by bread alone, every now and then he needs a little crumpet !
  14. Damn, mine runs out tomorrow !
  15. Nah, this is like installing one boiler for the whole street and telling people that at busy times they may not get much hot water. But don't worry, if you pay more then you have bigger pipes, so that in the middle of the night your hot water will arrive really quickly ....
  16. Yep, that rad is for a Jap auto TT. A UK spec one has the oil cooler tanks down each side. As you're going to the trouble taking that apart, it would be wise to fit an aftermarket auto box oil cooler - your gearbox will love you for it and last longer !
  17. And it ain't gonna change much until BT deliver VDSL or fibre to the home.
  18. We received notification of the payment on the 5th and this is what PayPal helpfully have to say :- This eCheque Payment will remain "Uncleared" until the funds have cleared from the sender's account, which usually takes seven to nine working days. If you are posting an item, please do not send your item until the funds have cleared into your Paypal account. You will be notified by email when the funds have cleared into your PayPal balance.
  19. I sussed it, looks like all we received was the payment, without the automatic link. Just fixed it for you manually.
  20. Yep. PM me a reminder and I'll do it later - I have to update the accounts as well.
  21. Curious, did you use an eCheque through PayPal becuase it takes forever that way ?
  22. Well looking at it like that it's always a con. They oversubscribe 20:1 on business and 40 or 50:1 on home service contracts. Subscribing to the 8Mb service effectively means that they take the 2Mb limit off and allow you to run to 8Mb max - if it's available ....
  23. Database hiccup - fixed now.
  24. Yeah, deffo Iceland.
  25. 8Mb is really a maximum theoretical data rate so anyone getting close to that is very lucky. For most people it will be significantly less.
