bobgenie rebuild
I needed a little machining done to the sump pan took it too Andy Robinson today who turned it around in three hours! So he works as fast as he drives top man :) So here it is trial fitted to the old engine and fits perfectly now. Some custom intercooler brackets made which position the side mounts perfectly and you can see how the new ducts will help with effective cooling.

A few more photos of the build it's coming along nicely. Slow but sure I'm hoping we don't hit any more delays.

bobgenie rebuild
Here are a few photos of the radiator install. This should improve cooling as we will prevent any air going around. We were fitting the Daily dry sump to the old engine which we shall use for testing but found that a corner needs machining off as it causes the sump to foul the crank. Next job is a new race loom but mostly now we are simply re-installing parts which hopefully will mean some testing soon. I hope the next photo will be of the gearbox install however we are struggling to get a rebuild kit for the HKS Triple plate clutch. I will use the old one for testing purposes and keep fingers crossed we can sort it.

Painting the interior now completed and ready for the next stage. Still awaiting a part for the gearbox so getting impatient with that. Now we have to re-wire hopefully for the last time ever! We have all the parts for the dry sump and hopefully by the time those components are assembled we will have the gearbox in and ready to test the dry sump with the old engine. Still hopeful for Time Attack at Brands and TOTB don't want to do any of that in the Evo

98+ gearbox hardly used
I have for sale a 98+ manual gearbox as taken from Madmax old car. I doubt it has done much more than 1000 easy miles. I was keeping it as a spare but no longer need it. This was new from the USA and was cryogenically treated so is pretty unique. I'm not going to post a photo it looks like a gearbox just clean. I can't post this and certainly can't wait in for a courier so this will be pick up only or I can meet / collect dependent on location but please ask first I don't want to disappoint. I'm in Hampshire so local to that is good. I work in Reading or Andover so again I can easy meet in those locations. I want £1100 and this is priced to sell. If it doesn't sell fairly soon I will probably pop it on the 200sx forum they like these and seem to have a bit more money to spend :)

AEM 50-1000 high flow fuel pump
AEM 50-1000 high flow fuel pump as taken out of the zed as shown in the photo. Used this in my car last year only changed this when we installed a fuel cell. This was the very one we used for 700bhp plus so can guarantee it works fine. £60 inc basic postage.

tein EDFC controller and motors
Here is the Tein EDFC which I used with the Tein Masterflex. It's simple adjustment of the shocks from inside the car basically an electric screwdriver. I liked them for the road where I might soften a little in the wet or go a little harder if I was looking for a spirited drive. At the end of the day it saves you getting your screwdriver out to make that minor adjustment - bargain !! Cost £275 new letting this go for £150 inc basic postage.

Tein Masterflex Coilovers
I have for sale a little used set of Tein Masterflex which came off Madmax old car. I doubt these have seen more than 1500 miles and the condition backs that up. They cost £1100 new. They are in great condition and come with a spare set of springs for the rear all dependent on weight of your car and / or how stiff / soft you want it. These are definitely a step up from the Tein Superstreet with separate length adjustment. You can use your existing top mounts or get yourself a set of pillowball mounts. I need the space and some funds to help me complete my race car. Price is £550 including basic postage or a £525 if you want to collect.

Time Attack and TOTB
As my zed won't be ready in time for a full season of time attack I am doing a single round at Brands Hatch on the 19th June and am entered in Club Pro. I will be attending a time attack test session at Cadwell Park on the 24th March but most likely I will be in my Evo. As always I will be competing in TOTB and as we managed to field a pretty strong team in 2014 I want to try and better that. I was with Eurospec team last year but it would be good to see who would be interested to join me in a one make team again. I will also be competing in the MLR Sprint championship and am enquiring about hill climbing too. Once we have the car running and a fixed calendar I will update and hopefully see who wants to join in the fun.

Looks wise the zed wins hands down of course. As an all year round toy however the Evo is superior in just about every department IMO. Still wouldn't swap my zed for one though :)

bobgenie rebuild
As Pete has been giving me an ear bashing I thought I had better post a few pix of the rebuild. I did a fair bit of testing during 2015 and competed in quite a few events despite having a cracked and / or porous block. This left me low on power but I hope to have sorted out suspension and a few other issues that should help to make the car a lot faster. Looks like a lot to do still and there is however I hope to be back on the track and testing in time for the new season. I plan to do more in the way of sprinting and hill climbing but of course ten of the best remains the primary event for me. Probably do Brands Hatch in time attack in club pro. The main aim in the rebuild is to move weight to the back as far as possible. In addition I will be trying a few new ideas and I will add a few more photos as I get them over the next couple of months.

Track days
Yes I often think we should have kept it this simple.
-
Track days
:) remember our first time attack at Cadwell Park and the tread was virtually ripped from the carcass on the PS3's. I had decent power but was still pretty heavy and it's the weight and the 'grippiness' of the tarmac that is the factor here rather than the heat.
-
Track days
I could destroy a road tyre in less than 5 minutes in full road trim (and have done so). With full tread it rips the carcass and delaminates across the tread hence why you want around 5mm of tread max.

Track days
Just remember guys that TOTB is an extremely cheap way of getting 2 days of track action and includes handling and 1/4 mile what more could you ask for???
