I understand the jap import is limited to 112mph, did over this the other day, has it been chipped ?

speedo problem update, picked the car up last night, from cold the speedo does nothing, the hicas light doesn't come on and the steering is not affected. after around 10mins, the needle starts flicking between 0mph and the speed you are doing, then, eventually it will work properly. any ideas, will it be the convertor, dodgy connection ?

i was thinking exactly the same thing just last night, old duvet or blanket.

i will check to se if he has them, picking the car up tonight

After you've take off the targa tops, where do you put them, I know they are supposed to go in targa bags (that I havn't got). Do you just put them in the boot :confused:

Picking my very first Z on Saturday :hyper: It's a j spec TT manual '92 The first thing I'm gonna do is drop the oil. Are there any special procedures/precautions I need to take. Should I use a genuine Nissan filter or a pattern part ? Has anyone ever used ZX1 friction reducer in their Z ?

Hi Paul What, where and what do PCV valves do ? Do I need to replace/clean them ? sorry, don't really know much about the Z myself yet

Bought my very first Z yesterday and pick it up next Saturday :dance: It's a 'J' '92 2+2 manual TT Fairlady import :bow: The guy I bought if off didn't really know much about it, he got it from his Mrs brother who recently died :cry: He didn't know when the cambelt was last changed, so that would be the first thing that needs doing. I will also change the oil. Is there anything else I should be looking at. Advice please.

Iv'e just seen a z advertised on auto trader as being DIESEL and he's put it in upper case, that can't be right can it, DIESEL, WHAT :confused: :confused:

I was not there when it happened, it was on an ally way at the back of our street, we don't know the dog owner but the witness and a friend of ours does and knows where he lives, if I was there the dogs (and the owner) would have been no more !

One of my cats was attacked and killed yesterday by 3 dogs that were off their leads and the owner was there and did nothing, I have a witness, can the owner be prosecuted, any advice, if anyone has any :cry:

No, the cd will still be 800Mb, the songs, like computer files, on the disk are smaller than normal cd songs, the mp3 player sorts the rest out

That's right, the quality isn't as good but the mp3 software removes stuff the human ear 'apparently' can't hear, ie, a sound behind a bass beat. The up side is you can get a 5hit load more tracks onto a cd

I have been banned twice and don't own a z (yet) totaalled up too many points first time, speeding/undue care and attention etc. second DD and IN10 recently got photographed in my Mrs Renault Sport Clio Cup 172 doing 42 in a 30, we lied and sand we didn't know who was driving, they sent a letter back saying tough, yopu have to tell us or your liable, so put my name down, now still got all paper work at home, how long untill thay can't do anything as I am waiting ages before I sent the form back, any one know ?

2) could be the power steering pump belt slipping, does that on my golf, can't be arsed to replace it yet

Bet you can't pick another one up like that for that price !

could also be valve stem seals couldn't it ? (correct me if I'm wrong)

Best way is on a lathe with a circular wire brush attachment (or slow speed power drill fixed to a bench), but make sure there are no metal wire bits left in the gap after cleaning and before refitting, also recheck gap !

Have any of you guys had to have welding done due to exessive corrosion i.e. inner wings, sills etc :confused:
