picture requests of your ported heads
Now there are some good links. I have been searching for days trying to find compairable types of porting on the 40p heads. There are a lot of variations. It was that hump in the exhaust port I was worried about. It is going to be removed now. Thanks guys

picture requests of your ported heads
I bet he does but didn't want to take the micky and ask him as it's what he does for a living. Jim has been very helpful so far and I don't want to take the piss, so to speak

picture requests of your ported heads
Hi I'm looking for some pictures of a ported 40p tt head preferably the exhaust side. I have Google searched and come up with a lot of mixed results so want some actual club ported heads which I can reference too. My main concern is how much of the "hump" in the exhaust port where the valve guide comes through. Can it be completly blended flush or is it wise just to fettle around it?? I don't just want to hog out the material and reduce velocity

Found my issue with the other cylinder. I have found that my heads were using the early 30 type intake valves. .. can you see the difference... good one on the left lol

manual cams and gearbox with upgraded auto tubs
The auto intake cams have a yellow band painted around them if its still there after all these years. The manual intake cams ahould have a green one. Be careful tho as oil can change the colours. My green manual ones look to be more black now but there was a hint of green remaining.

manual cams and gearbox with upgraded auto tubs
The ar is the throat diameter in the snail part of the housing..where a smaller ar will increase velocity of the gasses flowing but chokes the maximum flow hence fast spool but reduced top end power..?am i right in saying that noel?

manual cams and gearbox with upgraded auto tubs
The intake cams on a manual have a bigger duration this means the cam profile lets the valve stay open a fraction longer. What im asking is will it create a noticable lag in the auto turbos or will i gain any useable power.? I know the auto v manual power is supposidly 260 hp v 280 hp.im mildly porting and polishing the heads and am going for a quick spooling auto turbos with 360 deg bearings and stepped gap seals. Im also thinking of the 2.5 inch intake system like what jaffa is doing and relocating the intercooler where the rad sits to reduce the intake length. This i feel will give the auto turbos the best possible chance of producing some good usable power in a street drag situation.....

Too be perfectly honest i never heard any knocking or wierd noises from the engine. The ecu was installed when i bought it back in nov 2012. It did run like a pig when i bought it but i got it running really sweet. It Pulled really well. I think what killed it was a few laps of castle combe in japfest 2013 with that ecu still installed. A few weeks afterwards i notice smoke when it sat idling. Went through all the usual stuff plugs, pcvs etc etc. Till beaulieu 2014 when it dtsrted to smoke really bad..! That brings me up to date
