Twin Plate Clutch Woes........
Thanks for your input Darren, Does seem that way but it came out of a Zed? Maybe I'll go for round 31 later on tonight :mac1: (I love a good beating lol) oh just remembered I had measured it up against my stock clutch and flywheel and its roughly the same (can't get calipers to it too accurately) looks the same enough to be though, cheers m8

Twin Plate Clutch Woes........
Yes it goes the full lengh easily ( a slight kick when going through vertical position , but still free)I have looked at this first and everythings OK. I have replaced the pivot ball with a smithys one and double checked the lengh of that also the bearing carrier is symetrical and can only be held on by the spring clips one way, and all the springs are tucked in where they should be.

Twin Plate Clutch Woes........
Yep release fork was seized in the pointing down towards the front wheels, I couldn't even get the slave cylinder back on (clutch stuck onto bearing). I rang the guy up today who removed the clutch and he said I should strip the clutch down and inspect it as a plate could be backwards, It looks OK to me but I'm not too knowledgeable. Looks OK to me though at a engineering kind of guess? The last pic was of the clutch before I stripped it down and all the bolts and pressure plate bolts are home (seated off)

Twin Plate Clutch Woes........
Hope somebody can shed some light into my dim head on this one :o It relates to this thread..... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=73675&highlight=clutch+fork I have now got the box back out and after a phonecall I have taken the clutch apart for checking (a stupid move as it took me ages to line up properly) I just need confirmation that its going back in the correct order as I have searched the web and only come out with a guide for a RX 7 which looks wrong for our cars. Tell me what you recon, do the pics look like the correct sequence? Thanks

why is it so hard to beat factory figures?
When they do the tests they don't care about breaking gearboxes etc...... they don't use the clutch and stuff like that. Cos people like us care about 0-60 times :D and they are out to impress

Grooved discs
If you think about it going in a clockwise position with pads making contact the gases would be pushed out to the outer diamenter of the rotor letting the gas escape, opposite if the are put on grooves facing forward. The whole point of the grooves is to dispell the gasses. If you know what I mean. (I really am crap at this :wack: )

Gearbox Clutch Fork Problem??
Now I am clueless, :p . Its just thet the fork seems to be in the correct postion inbetween the dust boot and therefore it has to be in the centre as the bearing is? so I would imagine its in the middle of the pivot ball, but I dont know? I have asked if Andy Z knows anything as he was the one who sold me the clutch. Many thanks for your help ED.

Gearbox Clutch Fork Problem??
Cheers Greg, I replaced the pivot ball with one that I got of smithy, I know I have not done something correctly but it took me a few attempts to get the box back in the car by myself (I only can spend about 2hrs on my car at any one sitting). I did'nt really want to be takiing it out again to find it would'nt need to. I'm sulking now. lol

Gearbox Clutch Fork Problem??
Last weekend I finally managed to get the gearbox back in after replaceing my clutch with a OS Giken one. Due to me having little time to work on car I now have to put everything else back in position, but now have a stoopid problem - the clutch fork is stuck in the backwards (free) postion, I cannot even get the hydrolic cylinder back in position its that far back. If I try lever the fork backwards (towards the rear of car) it just bends? whats going on :wack: lol. anyone know! cheers
