  5. the effects of a leak on boost pressure are slightly more if the leak is after the compressor and not before, but the effects are ultimately the same: - a leak at idle would show an increase on the guage (tend towards zero) - a leak at full boost would show a decrease on the guage (again tend towards zero) if measuring pressure ratio: - there would be no change at idle wherever the leak is - there would be no change at full bost if the leak is before the compressor - the pressure ratio would read lower at full boost if the leak is after the compressor

BUT if the turbos on mujinas car were boosting to 9psi before the ebc was fitted then its NOT the actuators. im guessing when the ebc is switched off the solenoid valve/nozzle/whatever that controls the boost leaves a smaller diameter hole than the stock wastegate hoses, therefore causing a restriction and acting as a boost jet.
  7. happy birthday bud
  8. did an oil change and fitted my strut brace
  9. only steveo is right on this one, which is why i asked if your car was an auto. the valves wont dump on gear changes in an auto simply because the engine carries on running through the change. they will only dump when you go into boost and then let off the accelarator
  10. bloody hell, when you speak to him again can you tell him to please get in touch with me!
  11. he is bloody funny!
  12. cos the roads are dry and you can actually boot it without fearing ull go straight where you meant to turn right?
  13. ...waiting for Cos to join in... :p
  14. anyone know what would happen if i didnt tell the insurance company about previous accidents? do they get hold of that kind of info?
  15. i was playing about with the quote system on elephant and check this: 1) if i declare that i have had 2 previous claims and both were fully recovered (i.e. non fault) then it costs MORE than 2) if i declare that i have had 2 previous claims and one was my fault and one wasnt! 3) and if i say they were both my fault it costs the SAME as if i say they both wernt my fault!!! how the hell does that work??!!
  16. jaffa elephant want just over £1500 tpft with no mods and no claims declared, with everything declared its about £2100! thats with my mum and dad added as additional drivers which did make it about £400 cheaper
  17. do you have any other ncb on top of the introductory one? was it a one off offer with a code or do they do that for all new customers? http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=46294 :(
  18. There arn't many companies that will insure an import and from the ones that do I'm finding it a huge struggle to find an insurance quote under £2k. If I can't get a decent quote the car may have to go because I can't afford to have it sitting around. If my car was a UK car I'd be laughing. I'm 21 with 2 years ncb, how much are you guys paying and who are you insured with? And noone mention Houghton's because just the name pisses me off, 'club insurance', yeah right!
  19. Fookin PMSL!!!
  20. buy my apexi rsm, will de limit your car and gives you loads of extras, see for sale section
  21. in a manual recircs do give a performance advantage of shorter spool up time after gear changes, in an auto it makes no difference at all as the engine is still fuelling during changes so turbo speed is unaffected
