What are the signs that an o2 sensor is failing?
I'd make sure the connector is nice and clean but it does look like it needs replacing. If you want to check it's reading the O2 sensor, just unplug it/plug it back in with conzult running

I've no idea about the voltages but the way to test them is at 2k revs as above ;) And I'm sure there's a reason for testing them at 2k revs think it's to do with getting them at operating temperature

"The o2 sensors must be tested at 2000rpm+ where the system operate in closed loop feedback mode, and their voltage should swing from low to high (lean to rich) about once a second." Did you do that? You're supposed to see the voltages bounce back and forth when you hold it at 2000 revs, that shows a healthy O2. You say the right is staying at a voltage, is that at 2K revs?

IIRC the O2 sensor plug and the det sensor plug are around the same location - top/back of engine bay. May be worth checking they're plugged into the right connectors ;)

So my Saab nightmare goes on
As I said before, I'd be concerned how they fixed things :( My first thought is they could easily take the bulb out for the oil light so if you do see the car again, check the oil light with ignition on. Keep battling on it and I really hope you get somewhere. Just not fair that these guys think they can rip you off

Custom dials/clocks
Unfortently that's a work in progress and it didn't sound like it will be in the near future :( Certainly does, he's more than happy to answer every question and doesn't sway away from answers.

Custom dials/clocks
Just thought I'd post up about this guy I've found who makes custom instrument dials and multi-information digital gauges. Got to say he's got to be one of the most helpful guys I've ever dealt with, answers all emails and happy to explain about what his units can do (which he seams to pretty much be able to programme anything into them). I'm going for a 20x4 panel LCD unit which show multi information at once, has alarms which will alert you when you go over peak settings. Pretty much seams to be the perfect system for me as I don't want loads of gauges in my other car. I'll be popping down to see him in the next few weeks and then ordering a unit. Will post up for anyone who's interested. He can also do complete dashes which could be very interesting........ http://www.zada-tech.com/ Don't think his site does him justics of what he can do. Problem is now, you've no idea if he's going to bodge it :( I personally think you're better off pushing for a refund but you're in a difficult position. Maybe another option is if you took it to a garage of your choice and they picked up the bill? Another thing is it might be an idea to insist on a warranty on the engine - say at least 3 months. What happens if he "fixes" it and in a months time you have the same problem. Think it would be extemely difficult to get your money back then :(

Good luck. Be polite and explain your point, if they don't play ball tell them your intentions for the legal route and the next step is to start putting things in writing and sent by recorded mail. If it does end up in court, you want to show that you were reasonable and gave them every chance to put things right.

How did you pay for it? I would call consumer direct on Monday - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Governmentcitizensandrights/Consumerrights/index.htm and find out exactly where you stand legally. I agree with what's been said, I'd be aiming for a full refund as it's not fit for purpose! Vjiay

Electronics question
Thanks mate, really appreciate the advice :)

Electronics question
Cheers bud. Can they simply be put inline? So I would just cut the wire and the diode goes in the middle? Are they ok for 12v? Are they rated by amps? It's obviously a normal 12v car supply ;)

Electronics question
Hi, If I want 12v to only flow one way in a power wire, do I use a diode or a relay? Cheers Vijay

Do you ever have the problem when you manage to fall asleep (with sleeping tablets), you wake up at 4/5am and you're head is wired?

At the end of my tether
Had insomnia for over ten years and was on Zopiclone and have been on Zolpidem for the last 5. When I go through a real bad patch of not sleeping, night nurse tends to help. Vijay
