  1. I've wondered the same thing, and don't forget most of them charge a percentage for an international transaction. Vijay
  2. yep, that's the sort of thing I want to do but I have no idea where to connect it (looking for easy wires in the engine bay). Vijay
  3. RC951, I'll post again Monday. I have no idea who makes it, but I'll be ordering one first, so hopefully I can tell you then. Vijay
  4. Hi Mathew, But it there an easy place to short in the engine bay? Vijay
  5. Hello Stu, LOL, I wasn't being defensive mate, I was seriously asking the question :) Vijay
  6. and not to take the reading off the pick up wire near the PTU. Vijay
  7. Hello Stuart, Is is the £300 for the supply, fitting and subscription? And don't forget, if you have a laptop this is a GPS navigation system too. Vijay
  8. To be honest, I'd resent paying somone £110+ a year for the subscription. It costs enough each year to own a Z as it is. I personally don't think it's much work wiring up a positive and negative feed, I would image an hour for the whole job. Vijay
  9. lol, yeah but the good thing is you can express your feelings to the person who stole it in your own personal way :D Vijay
  10. no disrespect but do you honestly believe the Police are gonna rush out straight away? You just have to look at threads that have been posted which show how much the Police care when our cars are vandalized/stolen. I just think that the huge advantage with something like this is you can track it straight away :) Vijay
  11. Hi, Just wondering if anyone knows an easy way of wiring up a remote engine starter inside the engine bay. I would still want the key in the ignition, in the 3rd position. I just want to be able to start the engine without bothering to move from the engine bay. Cheers Vijay
  12. OK, well the led changes colour when you open the doors but I still get 1 beep when the door opens (this is why everyone should get Bob to fit their alarms, I didn't (cos he couldn't make it down to London) and this is what happens :( ) Vijay
  13. What about them? How much time are they really gone spend looking for your car? The great thing about this is if your car ever goes missing, you will know where it is. I understand how the insurance might be a problem, but this will pay for itself within 3 years of normal subscriptions (of tracking). Yes it is easily removed and put into another vehicle and yes it does come with all the software you need :) The normal aerial is about 1.5 inch square and can be left in the glovebox, on the dash or somewhere not hidden deep. The more sensitive aerial can be mounted under things hidden right away. Questions are no problem, I wouldn't want anyone buying something they weren't 100% happy with :) Vijay

  15. Just want to see if there's any interest in these units - http://action-replay.co.uk/MobileComputing/Products/Tracker.htm The way they work is quite simple. It's a small box which you install into the car (12v supply needed) and then a gps unit is plugged into that and left in your glove box or somewhere indiscreet (or you can get the high sensitive GPS unit which is a bit more expensive but can be hidden anywhere). To track your vehicle you simply dial the sim card number from a normal modem (not broadband) and you will have a map with current location of vehicle, you can track movement at all times. Advantages: Track your vehicle at any time. No yearly subscription fees. The only charges you have is the mobile phone phone call charge for as long as you are connected to your tracker. You can plug in a laptop via a serial port and have a navigation GPS unit for directions. You can plug in a laptop and download the last movements of your vehicle. It can send your mobile phone a message to tell you your car has moved from it's current location (it has a motion sensor built in). If your car is stolen, you can find your vehicle and tell the thieving scum what you think of them ;) Disadvantages: Not insurance approved. I spoke to the guy tonight who said they are hopeing to be Thatcham approved in the near future. As you can see the price for the unit itself is normally £375. I have bought from this guy before and he has given me great aftermarket service. He has agreed to a price of £300 max, all in for a quantity of 5 (tracker unit, GPS unit, Sim card, UK & Ireland software). If you want the higher sensitive aerial, it will be slightly more. He is going to get back to me on Monday with hopefully a better price after he has spoken to the manufcaturers. If anyone's interested, we can move this into the GB forum. Vijay
  16. http://action-replay.co.uk/MobileComputing/Products/Tracker.htm Have a look at that. Bob also just posted in the traders section with prices :) Vijay
  17. Hi Bob, So with any door open and you try to arm the alarm, what should you get? 3 bleeps = fault, 1 beep = door is not covered. (I get 1 bleep with any door open). Vijay
  18. It's not on my Z but I'll have a look under the door card anyways. Jezz, can you PM me the details on how to turn the function off. Cheers Vijay
  19. cheers guys. I know the alarm has the option but what I am saying is that 9 times out of 10 it wont lock the doors when you turn the ignition on, but every now and again it will. Vijay
  20. Can I just ask if your alarm ever closes the central locking when you're in your car and you turn on the ignition. I know it has this feature but mine only does it now and again (I'm sure this feautre is turned off). It sometimes does it when the engine is running and the door is opened, then closed. Vijay

  24. here's the location of the relay - http://www.300zx.co.uk/cgi-bin/manual.cgi?list=el&dir=&config=&refresh=&slide=113&cycle=off&scale=0&design=default&total=133 there is another fusebox down by the drivers side kick panel (near the go pedal). Vijay
