  1. Spoke to my old man and he reckoned alternator, so I've blasted it with WD40 and I think it's a bit quieter. I'll keep doing it during the week and see what happens. The idle has sorted itself out and now settles at about 8-900 rpm. Will need to change the oil again after a few miles as there's still some yellow sh1te in the system.
  2. Hi guys, Just changed the oil, although it looked more like mayo ! I've noticed a loud whine whine seems to be coming from the bottom of the engine, it quietened down a bit once the new oil had circulated the engine but i don't want to run it too much incase its something serious. I've uploaded this video however it stands out more on my phone than than it does on my Mac, hopefully you can hear it? [video=youtube_share;eiRttYI-Ii4]http://youtu.be/eiRttYI-Ii4 Cheers guys.
  3. Hi Pete, Rears are ok, don't know about the fronts yet as need to get a new carpet before I put them back in. The passenger didn't before I took it out tho.
  4. Sorry being a mong, is it the 12v inverter if I'm wiring into the rear lights wiring? Sorry just don't want to blow anything up haha.
  5. Cheers Steve, hopefully it's all plain sailing from here. Got MOT jobs to do on it now as it expired last week. I'm just really hoping the water hasn't caused some unseen damage, the bit of rot on my drivers rear arch has doubled in size since!!!!!!
  6. As best I could mate, gonna have another blast with the cleaning spray and do an oil change as the next jobs on it.
  7. ............ Well sort of ! Haha. Obviously getting a lot of white smoke out the back, the amount of water still in the exhaust pipes was a surprise. It started as soo as the pressure had dumped the water over the floor. Seems to run smoothly however if I rev it a bit it nearly stalls as the idle recovers to normal, seems to be idling about 700ish rpm. Main drama I have the engine still runs after the key has been removed, it turns off after about 30 seconds. I think the turbo timer is knackered as the screen on it is saying zero!
  8. If vettel overtook on a yellow flag, which it looked like he did then they have a right to do it. It's worth millions of pounds to them. I'm not saying they are squeaky clean but can see why they're doing it.
  9. Only do red calipers if they are red Brembo's. That's my opinion. For std calipers do them black or something like gunmetal, with the Nissan then rubbed back to shiny metal will look classy. All my opinion of course.
  10. That's the plan mate, finished for the day now with half the front off the car, back on it tomorrow.
  11. Ah ok, only the rear 2 plugs looked wet when I removed them.
  12. Cheers Mark, can I crank it by hand first, if so is it just a case of turning the main crank pulley?
  13. It's not started since it came out the water, the plugs are out the engine already. Ill check the dipstick in a bit, the PCV hoses are full of mayo!
  14. Bit of an update! Found the upper plenum was full of water so that's off and been drained, can't see the condition of the lower plenum though, my gut feeling is its got water in it! The MAF and filter is off drying out and I'm about to remove and drain the intercoolers as the drivers side pipes are full to the brim with water. I'm hoping once that's all done I can put it back together and try to start it, wish me luck haha. If anyone's near Yeovil and can lend a hand I can keep you toppers with tea and pizza haha.
  15. No mate, in hindsight prob should have
  16. Not too good mate, it still won't start. Getting a dehumidifier tomorrow and will also get rid of the rest of the water.
  17. Hi there mate, ZedWorld are great, been there a few times and always do a good job. Got my turbos replaced by Jim at Powerzed and Bristol ain't to far away, he did an awesome job and a top bloke too. Worth giving both a call.
  18. Cheers for the messages guys, spent the day at work and bailing water out the car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  19. Hi guys, Anyone know if there is any drain holes in the sills, mine has skirts fitted and can't see anything. I'm hoping the flood water isn't sat in there rotting the car from the inside! Cheers
  20. Hi guys, After my flooding incident how can I tell what condition my engine is in? Need to know if it's ingested water and what should I check/clean to try and get it running Cheers all
  21. Well it's back and it don't start. It cranked once and that's it, only the starter solenoid ticking now. Will have a proper look tomorrow in the light but it don't look good, the water inside the car was up to the base of the door so the ECU will have got wet. Not happy!
