  1. Nice idea, the capacity for those subs can't be much, I've salvaged a little more but still not enough really, and I've lost all functionality of my boot, but nevamind, roof panels can go on the rear seats.. this is as far as we got yesterday..
  2. the gap wont be big enough for a 10" inclosure, it will sound pretty pants. I wanted to do similar , including a set of cd decks and 2x12" subs but still have space for the roof panels. Simply put, its neva gonna happen. This is what my design ended up as : even taking up the whole boot, the enclosures for the 12" subs are still too small. We started work yesteday and got about 1/2 of it done. Pictures are on my phone i'll upload when I've got them off. Have you thought of building a box to one side of the boot and still allowing space in the center for the roof panels?
  3. Autos still have clutches.......
  4. Yea.. thats what I did but then it scares the shit outa ya when u knock the electic seat button while upside down! strange, strange feeling.
  5. Where abouts in essex are ya 300_tt?
  6. you have wonkey eyes?
  7. I may be up for this in july? Work sundays but I may be able to pop down for an hour or even take the night off
  8. Basildon area I think... lol Gibby is it done yet?? Tony
  9. yea i know :) phonos have gone along the right hand side of the center console and the power on the left, under the carpet in the middle of the rear seats, under the rear seats and out into the boot
  10. excellent :) atleast I dont need a new rack. I'll get the dash out next week and when i get confused i'll be back :)
  11. When I test drove the car, I commented on how light the power steering was.. I didn't realise that it was 'Too' light.. Suddenly it goes hard again for a few days (which feels..normal?), maybe, then light, for a few hours/days, I've found when its 'light' if i break heavy, the next turn, its hard again.. Is this a common problem or does anyone know about it? Also is it dangerous? - other than being too light, which I'm kinda happy with, felt really nice - but is anything going to break on me suddenly? Where I light, I mean I could turn the wheel all the way round with 1 finger.. When I say heavy, I have to put a fair bit of effort in to turn the steering wheel with one hand, 2 hands is fine.. I do have a small steering wheel too.
  12. because I dont think he knows how to use the internet...
  13. but if they only stuck MPH DIALS over the KM dials, the the odometer will still read in KM l)
  14. guys we're all saying the same thing but in different ways.
  15. It doesn't really affect me I was just voicing I had heard :) - I had read the thing about the 'gentlemans agreement' but I also read something about a law , somewhere, can't find it now though. T
  16. Just flicked thru this whole topic..dunno if anyones answered this yet.. the dash can read in MPH but the odometer can still be in KM/H. If the person importing it was lazy and didn't change the clocks and just changed the facias, then it still reads in KM, but the MPH numbers are on the outside instead.
  17. Can I just shed a little knowledge I think I know on this little debate. I may well be wrong but i'll throw it out there for ya. As far as I recall, it was illegal for the Japs to make a car over 280bhp at the time they made them, so even tho they were pushing 300, they 'pretended' they were only 280 so they could still sell them. Thats what I thought the real answer was, anyway...
  18. FOUND IT!! I put it in the boot with the locking wheel nut key for safe keeping. doh.
  19. It coulda been done without taking the wheel off but it was easier once the wheel was out of the way
  20. And thats what I did. Thanks people. Relatively easy job, just seemed a little complex just to run a power cable. Now i've brought it home to finish off connecting everything up and I've lost a connector for my fuse block :( now i'm sulking!!
  21. Its a great little car, nice and smooth to drive and I love the looks of them. If it was easy to tune I'd have stuck with it and turned it into an animal but its too nice ruin doin silly things like that Respect for the FTO
  22. good tip - thanks. sounds like an overkill but I'd rather do that than drill holes in the bulk head. I'm just gonna go down there now so I'll let you know how I get on in a couple of hours Cheers Tony
