Ineed i think buy looking at it to undo the steering im taking the engine out due to replace tubs on lwb man 1990.do i leave all the pipes and stering asembly to the subframe but where do i undo the steering as it comes down the shaft or at the bottom and do i need to drop subframe and if so how much and where? cheers chaps . :D

To my knowledge the erg is a filter box to get rid of exhaust gases or unburnt petrol fumes that go threw a filter and some back to engine and some back to exhaust ,ok if thats right then ok but the first time i had smoke comming out my exhaust i was told to check out the pcv systems .ok it turns out it was my tubs but the point of this thread is are the pcv and the erg one of the same???????? ;)

I was told but maybe wrong thing but someone told me not buy poly bushes because they wont last as long as they dont like the heat, sorry if im wrong

Dont know whats its called but i bet you dont need it on this over engineered car .its a black box round and has loads of breather/vacume pipes comming of it ans seats behind front bumper under nearside head light

no need to remove prop yipee something else that cant go wrong if i dont touch it, oh its one of the few uk lwb manual

i will change all the fluids incl diff

i need to remove the engine because of the tubs need replacing . so far ive done everything ontop all the wiring and plumbing out and the aircon has gonstill yet to drop yhe prop and split from gear box are you saying i dont need to do prop but still need to split the gearbox?

so next then after prop and gearbox oh and do i need to do anything in the car when doing the box, you know what i think buy the end of this week a couple hours here and there i will have pulled my first engine and a 300 cool

oh i forgot will it come right out off the gear box

So i undo two nuts from engine bay the starter moter and any wiring to it then slowly undo all the others whilst putting a jack under and poss a spare wheel at back end to help me out because ill be on my own,and im still yet to find out where the best place is to undo the prop at which end
