  1. I am going to butcher my Zed this christmas, she is going to have all the rust cut out of her, sills, fuel cap, rear arches, rear bumper brackets, front suspension turets, and nice new shiney metal welded in place, I will then spray her white to match the three other different shades of white she currently has!
  2. yep I have done that as well, used a hoover and sucked the arse out of the cylinder, worked fine!
  3. I have a JDM box on my uk, with no problems; however I had an additional cooler added, and my rad one bypassed, funny enough I have noticed a drop in running tempretures since then!
  4. My Dad owned mine before I got it! He was responsible for the tub upgrades and the hunt for more power, although everytime he gets into MINE he wants it back!
  5. Ha Ha I know! I am running Toyos 265's 30 19's at the rear, and I can spin the rear in the dry its mental! and expensive!
  6. I went out for a drive the other night and I came to the realisation that half of you lot must be mad! or just ballsy  My Zed has had the following work JWT Chip New tubs standard casings but with 360o bearings @13 PSI with manual boost controllers Hard pipe kit Apexi Induction kit, SE front nose cone, wing bonnet and slam panel (Several auto boxes!) My engine is in tip top condition I have no idea what BHP I am running, but I was driving down a certain private road and Ford mondeo st220 was tail gating me, I pulled over to the slow lane of the private road to let him pass and he continued to tail gate me, after 5 mintues of this (very long private road) I kinda got a little irratated, and gave it the beans. My foot was not even on the floor, after jumping down a couple of gears, and hitting full boost I was doing 130 in a matter of seconds, and whilst he was trying to keep up he just disappeared! in my rear view mirror. Now my point is that it is the only car that I have owned that scares the sh%t out of me! I have previously had a Integra DC5 Type R, Civic Type R , Porsche 944 turbo, all fast cars but not like this, the power is relentless and I fear for my license every time I drive it! So I estimate that I must be running at around 330bhp max! so you guys that are getting 450+ must have balls of steel!
  7. It could be checking the engine compression and power balance between cylinders if good and tbs are fine - may be worth finding a second hand box, I managed to get a good one for £200 (Must make sure it has a good torque converter as well)- and apparently it is an easyish job to do your self - however I got Zed World to do it for £250 - they did it in a morning. You could sell your new Zorst - put the standard one back on to contribute towards the cost of the new box - My Uk Zed has 125K and engine is running excellent although I have rust, i am tackling that during the winter.
  8. I have one that says "Passengers travel at their own risk" but I want that one now!
  9. Seriously you should check them out! Classics in every sense of the word!
  10. I bought my best mate Top trumps "mullets and geeks" cards, I was on the floor LMFAO in Woolies' when I saw them, they are a must buy!
  11. Thank you guys, in the time of Zed Ownership, I have to say that I have never experience such first class service, an awsome garage that has completely outshone all that I have used before! I will be back and recomend to all! Thanks Jeff and Jamie, for sorting out my Autobox so quickly, and I will look forward to getting her booked in the new year! to get rid of the dreaded rot! It was worth the dogey hotel! Chris
  12. Man if only Mullets were fashionable again, in addition to a nice fat handlebar tash!
  13. Like You I plan to leave the biggest carbon footprint I can, hence why I drive my Zed I plan to roll around in oil and super glue rubber to me just before I die, I hope that the toxic fumes from my burnt body kill at least 100 baby seals! The newest thing that greenpeace want to do is ban patio heaters! I am fine with that as I will just burn tyres outside when I am having a cigg!
  14. "Last Lions" Solo, which goes on for a good five minutes! There is a run about half way through which sounds very "Dorian", however Bugger me if I can follow it!
  15. Ah Guitarists! Dragon Force is pretty insane, I once tried to lean a Paul Gilbert, it resulted in my brain almost exploding!
  16. Freakin Hell! mine must be one of the highest mileage Zeds around! Other than the rot, the Engine purrs! Saying that most of the engine has been replaced!
  17. No Rust!? Damn englands rain and salty roads! New Sills will be fitted
  18. Right Guys Just Interested to see how many miles peoples Zeds have done, My UK Auto TT has just gone past 124K, Turbos replaced, Two Autoboxes, and a ton of rust to show for it!
  19. Ha Ha LOL Ling-Long Tyres! Thats well funny, I currently have Toyo's all round and if I really step on the "Go faster" pedal its pretty easy to get the back end to break away in the dry, so I do think that I would destroy and rip apart a set of Ling-Ding-Ping tyres in about two days! In addition my wheels were like £2000 when I got them from Se Nistek a few years back, thanks for the advice,
  20. Hi guys Just got the Zed with a new secondhand gearbox back from Zed World, Jeff and Jamie are wicked, very pleased; however I have just got some tyres priced up, and almost had a heart attack, I am running 265/30/19's on the rear and 235/35's on the front, and tyres are like £200 bucks each for cheapies buget brand stuff, I am convinced that I can get a 18' wheel and tyre package for that! So what wheel and sizes are people running, and avarage cost of tyres?
  21. Holy Crap, Thats the biggest extension I have seen! So I am presuming that other than correct torque of nuts, order, ect there is really nothing to ruin
  22. Hi there, where do I start, Old box is toast and just bought a replacement, hoping that it will last a little while until funds can be raised for a manual conversion, I have a UK TT and the replacement box is off an import, are there any decent guides or can anyone help with some pointers before I start stripping the old one off! is this an achievable task or do I need a Dr of car mechanics, I have rebuilt heads and resonably confident with a spanner; however i feel a bit nervious about this one! Chris
  23. So the big question, How much? I have a family to feed sniff sniff! Do you know if I can use a jap box and a UK car, I am kinda presuming so! C
  24. ANTHONYD !!!!!!!! Do you still have a that Auto Box, How much, what history, Jap or UK? I am currently doing 80mph in second! I have a 1990 UK TT Auto, Chris
  25. Ha Ha, you know, I have never liked the Autobox, I have always found it has harsh changes, and feeding gas out of corners is a pain when it changes down! But at the moment I cant afford the £1500 odd to get it done!
