Good news but mega help,
Hi just got my Auto UK TT back from MJP Autos, with new boost adjusters, and a remaped ecu and the rather nice surprise that I have excellent power balance between the cylinders! I was in a rather good mood, so today despite the day I gave her a hell of a drive and she flew! The remap made such a difference! HOWEVER Tonight I have the dreaded "wont go into 3rd gear auto" problem and I am gutted to the max, the autobox has covered 2000 miles since being replaced by SE Nisstek, two years ago, now I know what this means and that it is likely the box is shot, but I just wanted to know if there is anything which could be the cause. Funny enough I have a manual ECU and changes are completely reliant on the Auto box ECU, (SE Nisstek ball up!) However prior to tonight it was shifting ok, Any ideas????????

she costing me money! Some advice please!
Well the ECU has been removed today and sent away for remapping, to run under 1 Bar, I am hoping that once all this is done, I can get to sorting out my dogey body work!

she costing me money! Some advice please!
I was, 14psi on stock internals, and no ECU upgrade! Hence why I am wanting a safer option, it was a SE Nistek boost upgrade! I think that they advance the timming to compensate for detonation ect, However strangely at the moment she is running rich, So if I got a EBC would I still need the ECU remapped?

she costing me money! Some advice please!
Hi there, my UK TT has gone into the car hospital and seeing Mike at MJP Eastern Autos in Brentwood, As well as costing a lot of dosh, I thought I would ask you guys some questions, Currently I have Boost jets fitted, which have raised the boost to about 1 bar, on new tubs and stock internals, (Done at SE NISTEK), anyhow Mike almost had a heart attack when he found out and we are planning to re-program the ECU and fit manual boost controllers, now I know that the electronic boost controllers are better, but presumming that it is all done properly I assume that Manual controllers, and boost valves can be firstly effective, but more importantly safe? So my question is, is this going to be a waste of time and money? credit crunch is here, and electronic boost controllers are just too expensive!

Oil Leak, Temperature and Boost
Hello! I have a couple of problems, with my UK TT, she is going into a garage over the weekend, but I wanted a little advice as to whether I will have an heart attack with my garage bill, I have a oil leak which I have no idea where it is coming from, the oil is dripping into the passesnger's inner wings and splattering down the underside of the passengers side, I have taken the plastic stuf off in the wheel arch and there are a ton of wires with oil on them! Any ideas? Car should be running at 1.4Bar due to boost jets fitted, on new turbos, however cant get the boost gauge needle past 1.0bar , New auto box is holding on to 2nd gear too long and unless I take my foot off the gas she bounces onto the limiter, Finally Oil Temperature is running at around 210F despite just having a oil change, Please any help or advice will be most appreciated, Chris

Jets vs Electronic Controllers
However you know my next question what one! I have the Apexi AVC has been recomended, I am kinda guessing they all do a similar thing!

Jets vs Electronic Controllers
That is pretty helpful, I like the idea of the flexibility, plus the engine has done 120k and I am a little worried that increase boost of the jets currently fitted will make her go bang!

Jets vs Electronic Controllers
Hi There My UKTT Auto is going into see Mike at Eastern Autos in Brentwood in the next couple of weeks and she currently has new Tubs and boost jets fitted, by previous owner, I am considering going over to a boost controller, as I want a little more flexibility and also a little concerned that my stock engine over time will not get on with the increased boost of the jets, however there is obviously a pretty big cost implication, is it worth it? she currently has enough power for me at the moment, so I am not looking at trying to get mega figures out of her, Thanks chris

New Ownerish - Old Car, Help!
Hi There, I have posted a couple of posts on here and thanks a lot for responses, I have taken on a TT UK Auto, which has been in the family for a good few years, and has been sitting not used for two years, before she was Sorn, she had a new Auto Box fitted new tubs, and is running slightly higher boost. However a took her for a first proper drive over the weekend with the mrs. Expecting to call the AA out! However firstly my god! what a drive, I have owned a few fast cars, Civic Type R, Porsche 944 turbo, Intergra DC5, but this is a different level, it is simply relentless power. I found that she behaved well being RWD, and despite the Mrs Thinks its vulgar and a bit boy racer, by the end of the weekend she loves it too! Anyhow, after a good 200 miles over the weekend the A/C Belt snapped which made the engine so much quieter, as the bearings in something was obviously knackered, and in addition I have the noisiest window wipers in the world which I have located to the plastic sleeve around the window wiper arm pin. so my questions are I presume that driving her with no aircon belt will be ok? and the AC Compressor spins fine but how much roughly for the pully tensioner thingy to be replaced, And has anyone had the same problem with the window wipers, and again any idea of cost of a new pin and plastic sleeve? I had the scuttle panel off and it seems like a nightmare job! Kind regards Chris

Squeeks and rattles
Thanks so much, I am in the process of applying to be fully paid up member, unlike my previous cars (Sunny ZX, 200sx, Civic Type R, Porsche 944 turbo) this engine appears unbelivably complex! It appears you have to be double jointed to get you arms and hands in any gaps in the bay, therefore I think I will be bugging people on here a lot, hence it only seems fair to contribute towards costs of the advice that I will recieve on this site! However what amazes me with the old girl is that she is 18 years old and and although she has had new tubs and an auto box 1000 miles ago she still pulls and is lethal! It is a shame that I am battling the rust at the moment!

Squeeks and rattles

Squeeks and rattles
Hi there being relatively new to the club, I was after a little advice, I have enherited a TT Auto, that has been in the family for many years and has had a ton of work, new turbos, auto box, however after two years of it sitting it has been given to me, I got her started and MOT'ed and it is a lot of fun! However knowing how this car almost bankrupt my folks!!!!! I have come a across an annoying problem, the engine is making some strange noises the first sounds like a bearing/belt squeek rattle the second is a kind of metal on metal rubbing noise which you can only hear when she is idling, its continuous however when she drives its fine. Any ideas? of what should be replaced! Chris

Anyhow currently she is needing some work to pass MOT, Mainly new sills at the back, some suspension work. However I have a problem, every specialist garage that I knew in Essex has closed! Does anyone know of any garages within Essex/South east! Many thanks Chris
