hello, newbie be nice
Welcome. check out loads of them before you buy one. Imports are more expensive to insure. Dont be put off buy auto's ( I have had both manwell and Auto and Uk and J-spec versions ) and just as much fun, actually prefer the auto now.. must be getting older ! Buy a tt as you'll only want one if you dont.

Houghton Insurance
GIVE this lot a sticky thread and a write up. Plenty of good reviews and having just got quoted over £400 less than anything else along with several other members recently by the looks of recent posts, it has to be plugged. More we give them the better chance of getting a members deal etc. £20 subscription to save over £400... you cant get that in an ISA !

hmmmm...Auto's
Got mine from there also. Very pleased with quality of the car and had all the very minor bits pointed out rather than hidden i.e. slight scratch on door and bumper, bit of wear / repair on leather seat. Would have no problem buying another from there.

hmmmm...Auto's
I have had both. Had a uk manual about 8 years ago and now have Jap import auto. I think general consensus is that the Jap auto is better than Uk- has a few extras in power button and hold. I was after a manual again having been one of the 'Auto's are for old gits and birds' brigade but I went for it with the auto as it was in such great condition. I think the auto is fine and with 300hp no auto is going to be slow is it ? My other car is a lexus 300 sport which is an auto and it was a bit odd at first but that was after an Esprit and a TVR !

Shake, Rattle And Roll!!!
Could be the propshaft carrier. Have the same problem though not too bad at the moment ( mine is an auto ) very smooth at most speeds etc but at around 50-60 it vibrates. I think there are quite a few posts on here about it. Try search.

Heavy Duty Glass polish
Thanks all for input. Tried everything above with varying degrees of success but all take hours of elbow grease. Discovered that jewellers rouge and turps or meths mix does the job best. Bit messy and takes some effort but better than all the other stuff.

Heavy Duty Glass polish
Does anyone know of any really heavy duty glass polish. All my windows are slightly pitted where car was left in the rain ( not by me ). I have tried autoglym which works but it took me an hour to do a 6" square area !!!!! Think I need something stronger and an electric polisher !

converting reverse lamps to fogs
Having seen that photo of the right side reverse lamps converted I'm glad I avoided it. My aim was to convert one either side to keep a balanced look to the rear. However now I have used the relay route I recommend it. The rear lights and brake lights (all four ) work as normal. When I want fogs the inside of the rear lights come on bright and the outisde remain the same and are used for the brakes. It solves the problem and leaves the rear as it should be. The wiring diagram on the link above is what I've done but the only thing I would add it needs to be a changeable relay not a normal switch relay in order to get the full function of lights as above. Hope that makes sense 1:confused:

converting reverse lamps to fogs
Thanks all for your input. Went the way of the changeable relay and wired up both inside rear lights to act as fogs too. Seemed the easiest solution and keeps the back illumintated as it should be. Relay from maplins £4.99 Petrol to nearest Maplins £10.00 Beers for mate to wire it up £12.00 Rear lights as they should be........... Priceless !

converting reverse lamps to fogs
Has anyone converted two of the reverse lamps to fogs ? If so has anyone got any pics / instructions. Looks as though the only difficulty is modding the bulb holder.
