  6. no idea but they are fooking heavy.
  7. Well i`ve managed to remove the air con compressor as the pulleys are not squirting anything, it would appear to be coming from behind the cas area. So, i`m` aware the cas unit does have a seal of sorts as i have a new unit here. Has anybody seen a leak here before?
  8. Weekends only for me, but glad to help if i can. Joely and i were just saying would be good to catch up soon! So what better way than to spread the love...
  9. the bit of the spring you can`t see goes in the little silver lever that`s function is to open the valve in the matrix pipes. You attach this to the silver lever first then the other end has the screw bolt going through it into the housing to hold that end in place. I have a spare unit in the loft will have a look later and see if springs attached. To add, mine squeaked and sometimes goes boing too even though all put back correctly..maybe it needs greasing or they just don`t like being disturbed. The problem i have now is i have flow through the vents but it`s got no power to it so guessing the flaps are out of sync or something, these units are a pain to figure out sometimes.
  10. we could do that..zed support club..zedaholics

  12. No he hasn`t, just a conversion. Starting to sound like a good idea though...
  13. Well i`ve removed the covers and put it all back together minus covers. The cam pulleys and belt are dry..hurrah. Have only managed tickover at mo and no oil but will get the vvt to prime the cams n see what happens. There was definately remenants of oil behind the back plate on the cam shafts..how old it is i couldn`t say, the bottom of the plate also is glistening on the rear. i couldn`t remove one of the little bottom cover bolts as it`s been burred over.grrr.so i don`t know what it looks like behind that. So i`ve cleaned up what i can with solvent and we`ll see what happens. Now do i give it some beans to get the oil to vacate the pulley(S) or would they just leak on tick over?
  14. You could always try to find a rubber grommet to slip around the cables too, give some degree of protection
  15. OOH cutting seems very tempting as i`m losing motivation on this thing..so near yet so far. Pretty much all the hassle i`ve had with this car is from other people doing a bad job, at least this may be just wear n tear. Wish i was rich then i`d just hand it all over to Jeff or Jimmer. Still onwards n upwards. I` ll be able to open my own garage after this lot..seem to have taken pretty much everything else apart and put right! Cheers for your help mate.
  16. Cheers Smithy, you`re right they`re not cheap are they! Do you know if the cam belt covers come off without removing anything or do the waterpipes have to be removed?
  17. No, there`s no feed at cambelt end fella and have replaced those particular gaskets as found one was missing. Thanks though.
  18. Hi all, right had this leak for a long time now. It`s evident on the bottom of the crank in front of the sump but behind the pulley, i`m guessing this is just where it drains too. So far i`ve had replaced all cam shaft seals, crank seal, rocker covers have been resealed along with the 120k service pack. Pulling the belt cover back, i can see the pulleys have oil on them so obviously the belt too..great. So am i right in suspecting that unless the cams are scored the pulleys themselves are the likely culprits. If so do they have o rings or do they just wear internally? Cheers in advance.
  19. twas me..yay...8 years and finally spotted! Nice looking z b the way.
  20. i don`t think you`d survive that intact.
