  1. Not the same as SAAB,sorry lads.Their system had an injector in the Inlet Manifold that sprayed a mist in with the incoming air. It gave a noticable boost apparantly :) Water cooling for the Intercoolers just cools the exhaust gasses even more than Intercoolers on their own. Not trying to be a clever T*** by the way, just an old git with a bit of memory left:rofl:
  2. Does anyone remember when SAAB did a water spray kit for their Turbo ? It was simply a bottle of water under the bonnet with a push button on the dash to inject a fine spray into the inlet manifold to give a boost. They did it because they realised the cars performed better in damp conditions. It did work, but they charged £250 for it in the seventies IIRC. Lot of cash for a bottle of water. Your idea was very close WillieO:)
  3. Will give it a go after Issac, if I can work out how to upload em. Couldn't even upload and edit my own sig:o:headvswal Small hands, small brain, but BIG D***:D:rofl::rofl: which doesn't help me to upload pickies:D Cheers m8. Maz.
  4. Quick update fellas :D Changed them in 5mins.:hyper: When I've got a bit more time will dismantle properly so I can take the green bulbs at the bottom out, (cheers Graham). For now looks so much better than before:dance: Thanks again  .Maz.
  5. Thanks everybody. Much appreciated. :duffer:
  6. Got it in one Vini  So did she :D
  7. Thanks Guys, I've only got small hands (which is good cos they make me look bigger if you know what I mean;))but I aint gonna risk skinning em. Done that two many times before.:D Cheers. Maz. :duffer:
  8. Thanks Vini and Issac,I'll give it a go tomorrow. Cant understand how the guy I mentioned before did it in 10 mins, sounded as if he got his hand down the back cos he mentioned dropping one bulb and struggling to get it back out. Cheers lads. Maz
  9. Hi Guys. How much dash do I have to dismantle to fit my LED dash bulbs that have just arrived ?? One member says he did it in 10mins. Is it necessary to remove the pods ? Thanks, Maz.
  10. Hi Stella, It's a 60amps per hour you need bud.
  11. Hi Tezz, Just a small point as I noticed nobody else has answered your original question. You've got an auto box ,so no, your clutch aint slipping cos you aint got one mate:D Probably was fluid overheating as Quavey and Stevie said. If I've thrashed mine for a bit it feels a bit underpowered till it cools down. I read on here somewhere that the transmission oil cooler pipes on the Z are prone to blockage so probably worth checking that out  Might see you around mate, cos I live in Leyland. Bog standard silver Z on a "G" plate:D Cheers Maz.
  12. Cheers Graham, thanks for all your help. Maz:)
  13. It sure is buddy. 1megohm. cheers Maz.:duffer:
  14. Hi Graham, Think prob may be something like that ! Always smells very hot after a bit of a run but trans. fluid is up to level and looks very clean. Gear changes very smooth. Info about checking oil cooler etc. would be very welcome. I'm doing an engine oil change in a few days but dont think thats the prob or is it ? Still interested in decats and pods buddy :hyper: Cheers Maz.
  15. PM me some details Issac ;):duffer: Cheers Maz.
  16. I was hoping you were going to tell me your dads N/A used to do the same as mine and how you fixed it lol :D BTW love the wheels ! What have you done with your old ones ??
  17. At least I dont suck a dummy when I'm driving  sorry Issac I couldn't resist either bud
  18. Done that buddy ! 55 as usual since I sorted the temp sender and put a resistor across the det sensor ! No det either BTW  Posted in wrong section ! What a prat ! Anybody know how to move it ?
  19. My N/A auto seems to get less lively when hot ! When first up to temp she's lively enough but after a while gets noticeably less responsive  No misfires apparent and quite smooth but not as eager if booted :headvswal Any suggestions ? Cheers Maz.
  20. Checked today and is 0.48 at idle !!! Is this o.k. ? Slightly high but will this cause the idle speed to go up from 750 to 950 ?
  21. Never tried that ! Only tested with ignition on but not fired up and showing 0.6 which is what it should be according to duffer ??? Will try tomoz when I can see what i'm doing . Cheers.
  22. Will do buddy Cheers Maz.
  23. Yep reset ecu ! Battery off for about 2 hrs. ! Checked maf plug and wires etc. and cleaned maf out with switch cleaner ! Will run for few days and see if it settles . Want to get timing checked anyway, when I can find someone round here with timing light and helpful disposition lol :D Thanks for reply Graham. By the way how is the decat coming on ? Still interested in your old pipes :hyper: Also interested in having my pods done and some dash led's. Cheers Maz :duffer:
  24. I have just fitted new zorst and induction kit and now idling at 950  was at 800 before !! Induction made the differance ! Base idle screw wont go in any further ! Could it be that my base timing is out causing a high tickover which I slowed down just after I got the Z and now cos of better breathing has gone back up ??? I know that advancing the timing can give a faster idle !!! Any suggestions chaps ?
  25. Pipe about 3" long connects to solid pipe by the side of idle valve ;) I think this is the one to take off if emissions too high for MOT :D Sure someone else will confirm this :)
