  2. just dug up my first design of the car - even with the difference between angles and totally different colour its not actually too bad a job, lol! @8ace i think i rememver that - there must have easily been 20 Zs there today in around the unit!
  3. yes it was mate - i remember there being a gunmetal one there - just checked my other photos but i cant see it in them
  4. 2 lucky beggars at work have got them - one black and one gunmetal grey. i need to be a financial advisor
  5. :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: ...as those of you who have read my various threads will know - ive been putting so much deliberation and thought into a) what bodykit to have, b) will my 19s fit, c) why are they rubbing/why wont they fit when theyre on with stock suspension, d) shall i have my bonnet cut for the vent/will rainwater pour into the engine bay and ruin the electrics?, e) will sideskirts ground themselves when i reverse into the driveway, f) what spacers shall i get if i need them, g) is it me or is the nearside suspension shat/will it fail the MOT on it, h) spending weeks and weeks researching and trying to find the paint code...... and on and on... well today it all came together for the best! thanks to Zedworld and Andy at the bodyshop over the road, and a few pennies spent (well, hundreds of thousands of pennies actually   ) this is the result (ignore old alloys up front): no spacers needed! lovely drive home - never had an aftermarket suspension setup before and i experienced that nice firm bounce thanks to the KYBs and Eibachs. see how close it is though trying to get in the drive in the 2nd pic! only downside was that the calipers and discs i had supplied didnt bloody fit, so they'll have to wait till next year now
  6. just to update myself - it went fine!
  7. welcome to the club mate - sorry to hear about your ex's, but looks like things are looking up - welcome back to the world of Z ownership

  10. ...what an adventure this has been, lol! ive got an original-series 60gb, which sits at about half-full, so i decided to get a nice 250gb for £40 from dabs, along with a caddy from ebuyer for £9, with the intention of using it to transfer/back up data. the instructions for the caddy say to format the drive before installing, so i takes the back of my pc off, and slave the 250gb off my pc. get to the desktop, recognises the disc, but it doesnt appear in My Computer. after fiddling around, rebooting, etc, I eventually twig that i need to go into admin and activate the disc. PS3 discs need to be FAT32 format, but XP only formats to NTFS, so download Partition Magic, but end up with a demo version which doesnt actually DO the things you tell it. uninstall that and get hold of SwissKnife. absolutely bloody useless and cant even see the 250gb, even though its now activated. get hold of FAT32formatter, and lo and behold it can format to FAT32  , so i format the disc, chuck it in the caddy, and plug it into the PS3. PS3 recognises it, I hit 'backup the system', and it starts to backup to the 250gb. so far so good, kind of. next stage is to connect the 250gb in the caddy back to my PC and copy the backup (about 30gb) onto my PC - takes about 20mins but that works fine too. unfortunately the backups are archived and so its not quite a simple straight swap - looks like I need to do a restore too, but no matter. ok, then comes the next part - removing the original 60gb drive from the PS3. piece of cake, although the tiny little screws in the holder were almost soldered in, but with a careful spray of WD40, and a screw-head-shaped hole in my thumb, i manage to free the disc, and install the 250gb into the ps3. the ps3 turns on without exploding, and recognises the 250gb. still on track for success... next stage is to caddy-up the 60gb, and re-copy the backup archive from my PC to the caddy, which takes another 20 mins. plug the caddy (with the original 60gb) into the PS3 but it doesnt recognise it. then i realise that when i formatted the 60gb it was with XP and so it'll be with NTFS format. i assumed that any common format of USB-connected drives would be recognised and that only the internal drive had to be FAT32 (seeing as I use a standard memory stick with it sometimes) but it looks like this may be wrong. so i use FAT32formatter again to reformat the 60gb back to FAT32, and copy the archive over AGAIN from my PC... now thats just finished and the PS3 now recognises the caddied 60gb. hit Restore PS3, but its decided to format its own drive and default all the settings. upon further investigation, you have to hit Backup first, then Restore :headvswal:, so im currently waiting 55mins for the files to be restored and (God willing) have all my old stuff back, but with heaps more space. ...its just the little 'delayed write fail' dialog box thats appeared on my PC thats worried me a little, even though i waited a while after the copy had finished. IM SURE EVERYTHING WILL BE OK! watch this space. whats everyone else up to?
  11. yep - permission granted to use that pic too ;) i have to say thats a nice pic - really brings the colour of the paintwork out. great to hear from you Allan, not seen you for ages. there's been a few changes since you last posted.... ;)
  12. hang on - how can they tell the difference between whether you downloaded it illegally, or whether you paid for it and downloaded it from a genuine site???

  14. sorry to hear this mate - it could have been a LOT worse for you and the motor so im glad to see you both relatively unscathed. just think of it this way - there'll be some GOOD luck waiting for you round the corner - maybe the bitch in the blue punto driving into a lamppost cos she's still putting her lippie on ;)

  17. "Anaheim investigators are trying to determine on Tuesday how a large building started" im sure the large building started with architect's plans, and then a s**tload of cement and bricks. :D
  18. happy birthday matey!! :duffer:
  19. happy birthday mate - hope youre keeping well
  20. yeah it was Schumaker's FXX (fooking nuclear missile that thing   ) and it was him driving it - didnt look anything like the Stig, lol! the presenters made it obvious they thought it wasnt him, plus the fact that the 'Schumaker' Stig couldnt drive the Liana, and the two were creditted seperately at the end. still must be Collins though surely - when you hear the Stig's voice on that clip for foreign TV, and then Ben's voice, they're surely the same person. cool what they did though! i bet the live audience'll be p***ed off!
  21. lol, thanks bud. she's been spoilt rotten over the last 6 years i can tell you!
  22. suspension and brake conversion. ive not even sat inside it yet since the new bodykit went on
