  1. welcome to the club matey :duffer:
  2. you could have a bracket made up and mount it similar to where mine is
  3. this is definately my favourite (read: most hated) topic! i think normal idling temperature is 82. which main radiator do you have?
  4. when you say reading cold do you mean it just didnt move? mines giving a reading of between 65 and 75 degrees, and it does move as i rev the engine so to me it appears to be ok. but who knows? Also just to update, ive spent a few minutes throttling it in the driveway and then nipping to the back, and i get a faint plume of whitish smoke from both zorsts when i come off throttle. im sure Mickey (who rebuilt the engine) retorqued the head gasket down during run-in, but i dont know for certain and unfortunately im unable to get hold of him to find out. is doing this job easy - i.e. can be done without stripping anything down?
  5. sudden death :hyper: whoever can get a photo with the most tottie draped over their motor in the next 24 hours is the winner
  6. happy birthday matey!
  7. ive just voted on number 5 myself now
  8. good call mate - the battery container is still there, its just the oily shite-rag thats under the bonnet i wanted to remove show off
  9. pmsl - well as long as the gentleman in question sees the funny side of it then it can stay :) plus it seems to be the most popular option  unfortunately since i posted this poll ive removed the insulation and chucked it away so i cant follow the provided advice. just didnt appreciate my post being edited to make fun of someone else is all ;)
  10. sorry - keep the suggestions coming though guys! :)
  11. ive looked there and there's nothing obvious - trouble (or rather good news) is that its such a small (and occasional) leak so its hard to pinpoint. most of my hoses are stainless steel, with samco joins. what youve written about the pressure does make sense, but in my mind im trying to (rightly or wrongly) connect all the different problems into one cause. we've had a lot of rain, but with my vented bonnet ive got used to the engine suddenly cutting out briefly when im revving too much with a wet filter. this problem (the dropped boost) started a few weeks ago, before the rain started. all the problems did all start after the car had sat for a few weeks in the bodyshop and then in the garage having a new suspension. at first i put them down to it just not being driven - but the problems have all persisted!
  12. came across this while i was searching for, err, pics of spacers. DEFINATELY worth a bump
  13. they all started happening at the same time. yes - aftermarket zorst so seperate exits. strange cos ive got a Cometic head gasket thats only been in since the engine (and turbos!) were rebuilt less than 2 years ago. the water is actually dripping from below the drivers side front, behind the rad, but i cant pinpoint from where yet as it seems to be higher up. only drips (lightly - like once per 10 secs) when the engine is cooling down - nothing visible while its hot. im confused
  14. dont know who edited my poll to include the fifth option and although im sure some would find it amusing, it makes me look like a tw@ :slap: can a mod remove it please :nono:
  15. Happy Birthday matey! i hope you had (and still have) a great day!
  16. losing a little water from somewhere under driver's side engine bay, boost has recently dropped by 3psi under the same settings that were giving me 15psi before and although ive not put stupid settings in, ive not been able to get higher than 13.5psi, and im getting some whitish smoke reportedly from only one zorst does this mean that one of my turbos (baring in mind that they were rebuilt less than 2 years ago) is fooked? also, an idiot's maths lesson: ive read that a koyo rad takes about 7 litres of coolant - i just put 700ml in to fill it to the brim, does this mean that i was ok for fluid before and that the level had just sank down out of sight naturally? [according to 2 guages the running temp is fine] EDITED: doesnt appear to be losing any oil, fingers crossed, smoke is coming from both turbos on overrun and doesnt appear to be blue
  17. lol, if it looks good then go for it! i dont give a sh*t whether its genuine leather or not, its to my spec and it looks a thousand times better than the stock (fooked) leather and tweed!
  18. i did post in the original thread, but i love that bonnet. given the right combination of bodykit that'll look f***ing awesome!
  19. that means theyre GReddy then surely and therefore pretty awesome!
  20. ooh they rub against my skin with rough familiarity :wack: err, soft leather. cant be bothered to look at the item again - is it in the white only or is the seller offering to tailor-make them to your spec?
  21. sorry to hijack but every time i see this thread in the list i keep thinking it says "Meet Ken Livingstone!" what the hell for?
  22. im sure youll get it sorted mate. ive been there and im sure many others have - a fooked car in the middle of nowhere and no-one who can help. all part of the trip! :D
  23. gutted its ending so soon :( nothing worth watching on telly now
  24. thats an awesome writeup!
  25. tbh they do feel a little tacky, but youre not exactly paying big bucks for them! theyre made from a material called Vytex. ive literally not got round to fitting them - cant wait to get them done though and will definately be an improvement over stock in my opinion. sorry Craig not for sale :D :D the photos dont really do them justice as im sure theyll look far better when theyre installed and stretched to fit. i want to get my interior done in one go as i also have some similar material to replace all the twead panels etc.
