  1. hey up Neil nice to see youre still around :duffer: not heard about your sparkly black motor since you sold it, hope its ok
  2. welcome to the club mate - there are plenty of insurance threads around here where you should be able to find a much better deal! good luck
  3. congratulations Isaac im sure you'll do a cracking job! sorry to hear Athene has stepped down :(
  4. Z badge would be a giveaway as well ;) 1 new member then  :nana2:
  5. awesome example there and compared to the other two (three, four...!) looks light years ahead in terms of styling  - i hope it survived and finds its way to some lucky owner! did it have a Z-centre gearknob?
  6. well you have a similar spec to mine - but each engine runs differently and the same settings on one E-01 may give different results to another - the difference in turbos between ours will probably be the biggest cause of differing performance with the same settings. and mine arent right yet. the best thing is to follow the advice that was given to me in my thread - tone it down (especially your gain!) and build it up run by run.
  7. im no expert when it comes to setting up boost controllers, but im currently in the process of tweaking mine to get the boost i want. a gain of 45 looks high, and i think the set and start on yours need to be higher. but be careful when making changes, and testing them out!
  8. welcome to the club mate - a very nice example you have there!
  9. i dread to imagine what Jezzer's saying there! :( but you never know they might big the Z up more than they did on 5th gear! :wack:
  10. looks great but as said above you'd see feck all out the windscreen when the sun comes up! Spinksy had a cream speedo cover on his black Z and had to put a black cloth over the top of it while driving so he could see where he was going!
  11. look what turned up down the road :D
  12. ...maybe everybody's Z is actually working and there's nothing to complain about....!
  13. well, 'shortly' after i started this thread (!) ive started to chase a solid 17psi - so i'll keep this post updated with my tests. on the run to work and back i get about 6 safe opportunities when the Z's warmed up enough, so i've been running flat out in 4th and keeping an eye on the boost levels, then adjusting the settings slightly when im back home ready for the next day's run. these were my initial settings that were originally giving me 15psi, but which dropped down to 12.5psi after a bit of unrelated tweaking and tuning from Jeff. set: 75 gain: 14 start: 9.10 these were my first test settings set: 70 gain: 8 start: 0 ...not sure what the 'start' option does, but with these settings I got a steady 12.5psi with no spike at all. turbos seemed slower to respond though, given the lower gain. tomorrow im going to run with these, as im not sure how much difference 5% will make!: set: 75 gain: 8 start: 0 ...next to none! next up... set: 75 gain: 8 start: 6.0 ...nope - the same! tomorrow will be... set: 75 gain: 8 start: 9.0 ..same...used these on the way home... set: 75 gain: 8 start: 12.0 ...not a blind bit of difference - still 12psi :headvswal perhaps someones turned the limiter down or something! ill check it tomorrow. ive just found a big write-up about setting up the B-spec 2 (which I assume is the same as setting up the E-01) and its just confused me more as to how the boost builds up under a controller :( in my frustration i'll set everything to 99 and see what happens ;) aha, getting somewhere! set: 75 gain: 10 start: 12.0 just upping the gain slightly gave me almost 14psi! the difference of just those couple of psi was quite noticeable too! :hyper: have now tweaked it to: set: 75 gain: 11 start: 13.0
  14. awesome mate!! makes the stock ones look pathetic (which they kind of are!!!)
  15. its because they've legalised murder :)
  16. no chance! but if i must ;) thanks Car.Mad! :duffer:
  17. just replaced the crappy photos of the old bodykit with the new one :o :o
  18. yeah you should nominate mine instead... ...did i say that out loud? ;)
  19. what, cover in petrol and set alight?! harsh, but in the bigger picture, fair.
  20. in my opinion its the best car show you can get - a quid to get in, you get every type of car/bike under the sun from vintage to brand spankers, and the atmosphere is just so laid back, 100% enthusiasts, 0% chavs. it takes place on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. make it to the next one or else :smash:
  21. oink oink - actually its not funny, a couple of people from work are at home with it
  22. to my non-mechanical mind i'd say yes, the boost would have nowhere to go but backwards. nowhere to recirc to either, so compressor surge. ...waits to be told otherwise :)
  23. cant remember what this was, but it was made by the firm that became Jaguar A Noble M12, a GTR and an R8. That's what I call metal!!! An 8-series Beemer V12 A Capri with a Cosworth engine - couldnt see the turbo though - werent all Cossies turbo'd? A Ferrari Dino
  24. A general view of the event KITT - with the red scanner on the front. Couldnt find this car again to get a front pic of it :( I had inside information that this Audi TT RS had only been in the country for 6 hours ;)
