  1. ok i think we've established that the dealers shouldnt be responsible for selling high-powered cars to young/inexperienced people, unless its made law. i think we've also established that ANYONE can have an accident, regardless of age, experience and what car they were driving. However I think it's a good COMMON SENSE move not to let a teenager or someone of any age who has just passed their test, for 'x' number of months not to go out and buy a powerful car. i think this move will help to reduce accidents.
  2. its usually a good idea to post up a thread with your real name as well as user ID, so that the membership sec. can match up username to realname (as sometimes they are not obviously similar). and welcome :)
  3. welcome to the club mate. and dont worry about Neil's links, they never work! :D
  4. hmm i think you may be onto something there. it would be difficult to market the idea as a positive thing as opposed to yet more nanny state, although i do agree that someone who is a) under the age of 21 or b) never driven a car of 260bhp or more (i know its very general but this is just an idea) be taken for a compulsory track session of some sort... ...INSTEAD of doubling every poor fooker's insurance!
  5. difficult to say without getting hold of the actual list of changes that each chip does (eg, fuelling, changes to rev limit, etc). my first aftermarket was a JWT, mated with boost jets. i was happy with this chip (funnily enough i ebay'd it off last week for £35) - there was a big list of improvements the chip did which i didnt really understand but which sounded cool. then a couple of years ago i went for a John Dixon chip and saw a few small improvements here and there, nothing you could realistically notice, although the idle seemed a little smoother. not sure about SE, although Silvia Engineering went bust a good while ago. best thing to do is contact John Dixon (he's a member on here) and discuss it cos he can do custom chips for your spec.
  6. good point, how's this Karl? :D
  7. cos the clock's been fixed (was an hour ahead!) :hyper: but BTTT, id never even dream of running an engine with the filter off - its there for a reason!
