  2. air lock wouldn't cause the steam though would it? it'd cause it to run warmer than normal but there wouldn't be any escape. maybe a split pipe somewhere. shame you couldnt pinpoint it from the steam while the engine was hot. good luck, as I am the lord and master of all hot Zs (at least I was, touch wood)
  3. i like the IOW - stayed there for a week last year. stayed in an 'interesting' Moroccan-themed hotel in Ryde, then visited the east coast where my then g/f was working for the summer. mind you, show any body of water to us Midlanders and we get excited!
  4. thanks Vince, and thanks Scrawni. cheers guys. :)
  5. i have noticed the exact same thing Si. i think its because the 350z is aimed at a different market - i believe it's aimed at the Audi/BMW market to appeal to professionals, salesmen, etc. which it does very well. one parks near me sometimes at work, and once we both pulled up and got out at the same time. he looked over at me as if to say: "heh ive got a 350 i bet you wished it was yours", i glanced at mine, glanced at his, and glanced at him as if to say "mate, i wouldn't wash my 300's arse with yours." 350z - nice car, not broken into the family yet ;)
  6. im sure its the 2 after the www mate, i think it was a temporary version of the site from when Pete did the work Sunday morning. remove that and see if it works
  7. thats either stunningly low if its parts and labour, or a tad expensive if its just labour. maybe its labour and just the bell housing.... :D
  8. thats a damn good price! who are you with if you dont mind my asking
  9. i use internet explorer at work, but at home i use one called Maxthon, been using it for years
  10. i also have a like for like replacement on mods policy with Sky. only valued at £5k though.
  11. visibility when you look over your offside shoulder.
  12. my S2 had an adaptor, but due to a known problem with the connections to the S1 (dropped a couple of cylinders when it got warm), it was all hard-wired and soldered in. also reolcated to under headlight panel. where it should be in the first place!!!
  13. congratulations to the three of you!
  14. thanks for the hard work Pete. pfft ignore non-developer people like Saz they don't know anything about computers! by the way what HAS changed???
  15. yeah one of the years in particular was missing a boost gauge. there's a guide somewhere of all the differences between the different marks and one of them was gaugeless. as long as there are 4 pipes under the bonnet like the picture above then you're ok :) edit: Legrath knows which one :p
  16. Thanks to all of you from the bottom of my heart. Messages like this, no matter how small or simple, really can help. Even though we're finding it tough, we're starting to clear mum's things out - its something that's got to be done and so we're soldiering on with it. All the best.
  17. i didnt read hellraiser's but i finally worked it out!! - i was worried there cos i work for a bank!!! if they're owed £5 between them, but only get £1 each, then they're out of pocket by 66p each. so the calculation isnt from £27 up to £30, its from £27 down to £25 and there's your £2 difference! great teaser though!
  18. My mother has always had problems with her breathing - for several years she has been suffering from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder (COPD) which severely reduces the effectiveness of her lungs. She has been on 24-hour oxygen, a Nebuliser unit, and been taking a mixture of pills of all shapes and sizes. She has good days and bad days, sometimes able to move around the kitchen in her wheelchair, sometimes totally bedridden, or taken to hospital for a couple of days for more intensive treatment, especially when it gets hot and stuffy outside, or if she picks up a cold. She has had to have nurses visit 3 times a day to help her change, bathe, and move her from her bed to her chair, and back again at night. Sometimes she would be admitted to hospital if she felt really bad, and when visiting her, sometimes me and my dad would walk away from there thinking that may be the last time we see her, but she always came through fighting, and would be home that same week, ready to do some baking, or some light gardening. This Monday she was admitted again - I had picked up a cold from somewhere, my dad had caught it from me, and it had passed on to my mum. She was at the Leicester Royal Infirmary all this week, but visiting hours were during the day and I was unable to see her due to work - though the amount of times she had been in and out of hospital for short stints of extra care meant we were so used to it and that she would be back home before we knew it, stronger than ever. She was transferred to the Glenfields hospital late Thursday night, and I was awoken at 3am this morning to hear that she had passed away peacefully in her sleep - on top of everything else an attack of Pneumonia had proven too much for her. The last time I saw her alive was last Sunday when I took her dinner plate away, and she told me I'd just cooked the best Sunday dinner she'd ever tasted. I want to thank you for spending the time to read this, and I also wish to thank all the staff at the Glenfield hospital for their super-human capabilities at showing so much care to people that really need it, while under so much pressure. My mum spent her last few hours on her favourate ward, with nurses she knew and patients like her that she could chat to. Please give someone you love a hug, as so often it's too late to show someone special how much they mean to you. God bless. Dave.
  19. well this certainly isnt a car i was expecting to see: http://www.channel4.com/4car/gl/gallery/spy+shot/23563/?cntsrc=ns_car_2008-06-25_spy-nsx_a3&om_u=BrT0Rx&om_i=_BIY8-$B7R2Bd7M&cntsrc=_BIY8-$B7R2Bd7M possibly aimed at being a GT-R beater. i know its difficult to tell with that camouflaged shell but it certainly looks... different to the original NSX. suspected 450bhp coming from the front not from the middle! lol how could they still call it an NSX!?
  20. not my cup of tea bud but the quality is certainly there and im glad youre happy with it
  21. what we seem to be missing recently is pictures of other people's meets - i used to love going through the photos, even when they were from a totally different region, and they were what made you want to be part of a meet - to see all the Zs lined up and looking sexy and all the members standing around laughing with some Z part in one hand and a pint in the other. i think above all, meets and even just photos of meets, are what makes this a club and not just a forum.
  22. Happy Birthday both :duffer: :duffer:
  23. hard to tell colour as the smoke over the car is white. wouldnt turbo rear seals be blue smoke - white may be something like head gasket
  24. that poor sponge looks exhausted  good job!
