Well, after ten weeks off the road I have finally got my car back and I have even managed to go a full 24 hours without buggering up my new bumper. Good considering when I got it back the first time a week ago I damaged it within five hours! Its had the Greddy skirts blended, a Bomex bumper stuck on the front, the little patch of rust it had and all the carpark dings and dents removed. Anyway, have given her a bit of a clean today and taken some pics. So pleased with the results! :dance: :hyper:

Yeah, I have seen nicer flaps! :rofl: I think these only look good on something rally derived like an Evo or Scooby.

Really sorry to hear about this mate. I am really glad your all Ok though. I chipped my new front bumper a little the other night and felt like shit afterwards so can't begin to imagine how you must feel now looking at these pictures not to mention how scary it must have been. How about Spielbergs first movie, "Duel". That whole film was one big car chase! Great film it was too. On a serious note though I think Gone in 60 seconds takes a lot of beating.

I might be wrong but pretty sure I'm not. Connery was actually second choice to play bond. Roger Moore was the number one man but had a watertight contract with the Avengers so coud not get out of it. As soon as he did Connery was booted out hence the fued with Cubby Brocolli and why Connery went out on his own to make "Never Say Never Again".

I have been looking for some stock front springs to raise the ride height a little to protect my new front bumper and have just realised that I have some down at my parents house. Only problem is I don't know if they are front or rear ones and they live an hour away so cant just pop round with a tape measure. The old man has measured them for me and they are 4.5 inches wide and just under 14 inches long? Does this sound like fronts or backs to you lot? Cheers, Justin:)

I guess have an aftermarket bumper on a lowered zed is not a good plan. I wonder how much higher I can get my car with standard shocks. The measurement between the ground and the arch is 26 inches. Does anyone have a "non saggy" standard set up that they could measure for me? I don't want to have to get rid of this bumper as I love it! I have KYB AGX shocks. If I was to put standard springs on and then set my KYB's to the stiffest damping setting would this compensate for the loss of stiffness from swapping my uprated springs with stock?

It's been about 5 hours since I picked my Zed up with it's new Bomex front bumper fitted and guess what.........? I have bashed the front of it already going up a small incline! Its just chipped it a little but will still need to go back to the bodyshop to have the nicks filled and painted. Obviously I can't have thgis happen every time I go out in it so I guess my only option is to raise the ride height a bit on the front? I am running KYB's all round and have unknown progessive springs which cut the ride height by quite a bit. With the standard front end I just about got away with everything but now with the bomex on I have no chance. I guess I will have to swap the springs to probably take the car to standard ride height but I don't want to lose my nice sharp handling by putting standard springs back on so can anyone recommend anything for me? Maybe a stiffer spring that will still raise the suspension to stock height? Is anyone else running aftermarket front bumpers with lowered suspension with any success? Cheers, Justin

Yeah, I am really trying to like it but all those shite air ducts down the side just ruin it. It's just a tad vulger for my taste.

158 mph on my GPS then lost my bottle when I remembered I was still running on jap spec rubber! Plenty left though:D

I am guessing it's not going to be cheap but I will let you know in a few days when I am told how much I must pay. It certainly seems to be very time consuming if the job is done right but well worth it going by what all the above cars look like.

Yeah, but your a lucky bugger with a wide arse and they all get blended! ;) Don't think so many slim-line zeds have had it done althogh I might be wrong.

I think its a case that there is not enough known about them by the average car nut. We all know they are unreliable most of the time and have a penchant for V-power but it seems very few people know about its many benefits. To name a few, it's looks are gorgeous, goes like stink, can at a push take 4 adults whilst it is going like stink, can be insured by someone as young as 21 for reasonable money, you can take the roof off (sorta) and the ladies love them too! It just seems that most people looking for a big jap car want a Rex or a Poopra. :smash: Not good for selling but atleast it does mean the zed enjoys a bit of exclusivity:)

Ok, I have now ran out of money but still have the bug to do the odd mod here and there. Lets have your ideas on free or almost free mods I can do to enhance my car a little more. Cheers :)
