  1. Excellent explanation Richard :bow::bow:
  2. im local to stockport, welcome mate, where in cheshire are you?
  3. Tudor, can you just explain in a little more detail how to dismantle the actual speed sensor itself, i see no way of getting to the core to remagnetise it, the cog end thick steel rod wont come out and the other end with the wire is encased in solid plastic. the Rod moves up and down too about 5mm, is that normal? Cheers
  4. oops yeah sorry vijay, i'll shut up now :S
  5. hehe, i like the remote feature more, lost my car in the Trafford Center car par, xmas eve, was rammed, remote started it, located car about a mile away (notreally, but far) Could see my car, people walking past, then stopping, with a confused look on there faces, wondering why the engine just started with noone in it. makes me chuckle. I know its old, but people still get confused and think its magic.
  6. No, its one i thought wasnt called for really, proximity is good enough, if that doesnt scare em off then they will have the balls to take it anyway. So anti-tilt is maybe over kill, for me anyway. :nana2:
  7. You are correct CK, £75 add on, its actually the reason i bought the clifford in the first place, for the Remote Start. You can also plug Clifford into software and turn off certain features, set auto start temp for colder countries etc. (CliffNet Wizard its called)
  8. I tried to dyno my J Auto TT, they told me they couldnt do it because they couldnt get it to stay in 4th gear, even with the HOLD button. Actually one the many reasons i converted to manual.
  9. Never heard that before. If a thief has the fob, why would it make a difference if it remote starts? I should really make sure with my insurance company i guess. Unless there is another reason / scenario im missing.
  10. You werent, who where you referring to?
  11. Cant remember which way roundf it was now, been a while, but i only ever used it on motorway to lower the revs for cruising. No performance otherwise round town.
  12. i only ever used it on the motorways.
  13. haha, note the 'felt' in quotes m8 :) didnt say it WAS quicker. hehehe I had an Astra GTE, a 2.0 in a light tin can is awesome, handbrake turns very well.
  14. Hi Vijay, I currently have 2 Clifford 650 G5's, never had a problem with them. Remote start, Proximity, BlackJax (i turned off blackjax though, pretty annoying). Good alarms, wouldnt buy any other kind TBH.
  15. No, but pretty sure hes done about 3 of them now (mine being the 3rd), he knows what hes doing. He owns a Z too
  16. haha, agreed, im tempted to jump start the rs now, just to hear it purrr... Laterz m8
  17. But i say that, i used to drive my z for while, then get in my rs turbo, i was amazed how much faster the RS 'felt', almost felt twice as fast.
  18. well the cossie seems lighter, certainly felt A LOT faster than my z, and the cossie was only 280BHP. The other thing is, everything on the cossie is simple, everything worked, it just went like snot and heads turned, less parts = less to go wrong, same goes for rs turbos.... in the Z heads turn but when they look round they see you under the bonnet fixing the damn thing... Seems like im having a moan too, only because my Z is a fooking nightmare, mine is probably running about 120 bhp at the moment.... my 1.2 fiesta seem quicker..pretty worrying that is. lol
  19. yeah it is, i personally think its pointless buying anything non-turbo as a performance car... i said 'personally', hehe. First turbo i ever drove was an Escort Rs Turbo, that surge of power you get cant be beat, normal cars are 'boring' compared.
  20. Sounds about the right price, maybe even a bit cheap for 9k miles genuine RS500. As soon as i saw this Z and he popped the hood i loved it instantly. But i agree, the cossie sale was a mistake.
  21. I had mine converted by a mate, just cuz i wanted manual, turns out the autobox was duff anyway. Conversion including box cost me £1300. You get solid reliable gears, you get to DECIDE when it changes gear, nothing worse than accelerating round a corner then the auto box drops a gear... scary.
  22. Well i sold a mint Seirra RS Cosworth for this ZX, then the Z popped after 1 week! Ive always had an Rs Turbo as a second car.
  23. I watched it too, expecting a good episode, nice views, but i prefered the USA trip and the when they drove to the pole.
  24. Oh and on my auto, over drive works in all gears, as far as i remember.
