  3. Can anyone join the northeast posse or do you have to be a true Northener  Im in Catterick at the moment with no Z buddies  . Just wondering cause i know what you Northeners are like about being Northeners or have i :nelson: ;) Theres no initiation test is there??????
  4. Hi Dixonjohn, I've just changed my front pads. Got mine from Jeff at ********(Black ebc Kevlar). I know he does caliper kits. The black pads wear the same as normal pads but suppose to be more responsive.
  5. I was at his house last month and he had a black import on his drive that he had just got over here and he was explaining to me how it was done. Not to sure if this is a new venture for him.

Ive heard that when you decatt your Z be prepared for the blue smoke. This was a conversation i had Monday at the Zedcentre and the conclusion was that its not worth taking the risk if you havent got the money to splash out on tubbies. Also remember that it will make your zorst louder. Not sure of the gains though but dont worry somone will soon tell you!! Jonce
  7. Thats the good thing about the Z, the network for parts has increased dramaticlly; and if you do have any problems this is the best place to be. Somone on here will know :hyper: Saved my bacon many a time!! Jonce
  8. You will get a good quality car for that price. Somone is always sadley selling there prized possestion on this site. I think Luke from the Zcentre imports cars. Nice one going on Ebay at the moment but its an import. Ive got one and never had any problem at all. Good Luck!! :p
  9. This is a question that came up in a previous thread i was in and i asked about additives and a few people came back with Extralub Z from Halfords. Its under the thread tick,tick,tick.... Everyone said stay away from slick 50!! Jonce
  10. I would say the handbook service intervals are ok for most things, You probably should use a better grade of engine oil than shown in the handbook, and change it a bit more often. In my n/a I started using Castrol Magnatec (semi-synth) but later changed to Mobil 1 (fully synth) 15-50, and I change it every 3500, even though it does not need to be changed that often, as its not a turbo. but your manual gearbox requires a high quality gearbox oil (90 I think) probably change it every 50,000, or whatever the manual suggests. Fuel filter every 60,000, but as your car is 13 years old I would change that too. Good luck John im thinking of changing my oil in the auto gearbox, when i put the new cooler on. Hows it done and what oil? Thats if you have done it buddy. Jonce
  11. I got a set of rear harness seat belts from a trader in auto trader (at the back) to solve the problem of my kiddie seat. I think they were around £150 with p&p. All the places to fit the top harness are already there(the thread points). All you have to do is drill a hole through the plastic covering. Infact if i remember, even the markings were there to show you where to drill on the plastic.Easy job. You hear to many horror stories to take any risk with lap belts plus its a selling point(god forbid if you ever have to sell the beast). Jonce

Chris, Soz to hear about your gearbox, always somthin' happenin' in the world of Z's. Maybe have a Group Donation......seems to work with your buys!!!! Oh, fitted that Grounding kit you sent me and everythings okey dokey. Keep your chin up buddy!!! Jonce
  13. Andy, How much are these babies going for!!! I would like one because just fitted my kit today.
  14. Smithy, Ive just recieved my grounding kit off Chris. Just looked at your pictures of instalation and noticed you had a gold neg clamp. Please could you tell me where you got it from. Cheers Jonce
  15. The car learns new settings all the time, but takes a while to do it. Unhooking the battery for an hour or so simply does it quicker. By "ready to learn" I mean wiping its memory of any errors, creating a clear canvass. Sort of. So no - theres no need to do it. Mind you - Skyline owners do theres as a kind of regular service item. Any thoughts on this? Pete Any excuse Pete!!!! :hyper:
  16. Thanx Pete. When you say "ready to learn" what do you mean? Surely it will reset itself to how it was before or does it depend on how its driven etc... The only thing ive done to it since ive had it is get it derestricted. Should i have reset the ECU then??? Ive only had the car 8 Mths Jonce
  17. Right then, I 've got my grounding kit on its way(should be here tomorrow).Ordered it on Sat,soz Pete never relised you did them.... My next question is about ECU resetting. Ive looked at other threads and some say it takes 60mins to do and others say 20mins. How long does it take to put the grounding kit on? and does the ECU automaticaly reset by itself or do you have to do somthing? The engines running fine at the moment so im a bit worried about ending up with a rough running Z when the ECU is relearning. Cheers Jonce
  18. NICE BEAST!!! :hyper: Martinfa. Who dealt with all the body work. Looks like a good job,buddy.. Jonce
  19. I love it when people look at you with wonder, scratching there heads!! The amount of people who say "nice car"....."what is it??" . Its a good feeling leaving everyone behind in a cloud of dust. Happend the other day.Crusing along minding my own buisness and a new Beemer came behind and flashed me to move...the cheek of it!! Gave him the bird and all he could do was smell the optimax fumes as i left him. Slowed down and the respect due nod was given as he gingerly went past. At least he now knows the wrath of the Z.......
  20. Can you add an oil additive like 'slick 50' or does it harm the turbo seals? Ive used it on other engines and it seemed to help out!? jonce
  21. NO!!!! I don't say!!! Its human to misread now and again. Thanks for your input on the thread. :x:
  22. In the past when i have painted blocks etc.. ive used high intensity paint from Halfords but i cant remember what temp the paint goes to because it get bloody hot in the engine bay of a Z. Wouldn't mind knowing myself! Jonce
  23. If you remove the cats it will reduce the life of the tubbies(oil seals). Thats if it a turbo. If you do a search there has been many threads about this. jonce
  24. Hi, ive been noticing this tick. I thought it must be a slope thing. What worries me is that the top end of the engine,i.e cams ,tappets etc... are being starved of oil and wear will be faster. :( trying to find a good posistion......story of my life ;)
