  1. My Z32 is currently being fettled by my 'Z experienced mechanic' a former owner of these cars. My Zed has been laid-up since 2010 - only done approx 60k miles. He has Mot'd the car - and fitted a new injector ( see my other thread). When I suggested a cambelt change he said no need as it has a non-interference engine. After some googling etc I feel uneasy at this suggestion. Comments please!
  2. Dropped off injector with my mechanic- he's happy with it!
  3. Injector received- made by Intermotor- good make?? Cost £87.47 inc vat & delivery.
  4. Looking for mirror- black preferred but beggars can't be choosers. Thanks
  5. No- price from Nissan ( Middlehurst st Helens) was for one only! mike Feeney states the one on order is an original- not received yet- in post to me apparently. I'm no expert but I'll ask my mechanic if it is an original & report back. I need a passenger door mirror- any ideas ? (jap spec)
  6. Got one from Mike Feeney- £69.94 & vat-- Nissan dealer £464 & vat - how does that work???
  7. Trying to get Z32 back on road after long lay-up but can't find an injector - any ideas? Thanks in advance.
  8. UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE I have recently discovered a slight change or difference re procedure here- https://www.gov.uk/keep-registration-number No need for an MOT if car has been sorned for last 5 years with no gaps-they can request to inspect the donor vehicle- no mention of the criteria though. I intend to test this shortly by transfering from a Saab 900s which I have owned for 9 years but has been sorned since 1/12/2011
  9. Thanks- have placed order with him.
  10. Have bought replacement scuttle panels- what tool(s) are best for removing the fixings without damaging the fixings? Thanks
  11. Not sure if this is in correct section- if not then no doubt a mod will re-locate it. I have a secure, alarmed unit in the ground floor of a mill in Bolton ( BL1). The unit next door is available & I can make use of some of it but to reduce costs I am looking to offer car storage etc . It's dry & secure but no power supply but has natural light. Ideal for storing 2nd or 3rd or 4th car waiting to be fettled? To clarify, access is through an entrance shared with my unit, electric roller shutter, & alarm is shared.
  12. Just standard bulbs- will have a look for oxidization- thanks for the suggestion
  13. Thanks Jeff Got it sorted by soaking bulb holders in Coca Cola- work fine now but the 'Lights@ warning on dash still shows- had alook in manual & that relates to brake lights but they are all fine ( including high level)- anyone any ideas? L
  14. Yes checked both the 10 amp fuses , indicators & hazards - also Hazard switch isn't partly on either- just seen other thread- is it possible the other 4 indicators would work if there was a short? - if so is there a likely place to find the problem? Thanks BTW - are passenger side scuttles still impossible to source- the one above the battery!
  15. Hi All Not been on here for 5? years as my 300 has been parked-up , surplus to requirements- along with a 200sx. However I am now getting it back on the road, just needs 2 tyres, patch weld to exhaust, new wipers & front indicators fixing. Bulbs are Ok & I've also tried new ones & have checked the 2 fuses in the driver's footwell- all ok. Any ideas why both would be duff? Thanks in anticipation! L
  16. It doesn't say you need an MOT just that the vehicle must be of a type that needs one! it's either poorly worded or you don't actually need a current one- very confusing- need to speak to someone there but that seems nigh on impossible!
  17. That's what I thought- 'type that requires an MOT' how do you actually speak to DVLA- I always get shunted around recorded messages!!
  18. Have rules changed? Do you still have to have a donor vehicle Mot'd to be able to transfer number to another vehicle or put on retention? In the past that's what you had to do to take the number of a barn find/rust bucket but think the rules may have changed but can't find it on DVLA site & no offices now of course!!
  19. Locked out of my Zed. It has an aftermarket Scorpion Alarm linked to door/boot locking but it suddenly wont release the doors or boot but still beeps as if all is ok. I have keys for boot & doors but they wont work even though they go in the lock without difficulty. Battery has been a little iffy recently so I have now put it on charge by removing loose scuttle. Can anyone help please?
  20. That's not actually what I was asking but what you state is correct.
  21. can you transfer number from a non Mot'd car to retention, then later on transfer to a 'new' vehicle to avoid this regulation? I'm guessing not!
  22. I have a couple of vehicles with 'private' plates but are currently on SORN & not mot'd. Is there a way to transfer number without going to the expense of MOT & any associated repairs to make donor cars roadworthy?
  23. I am looking to start regular imports from the states. Each package will weigh approx 20lbs with dimensions of 22ins x 15ins x 12 ins. Will probably import 10 at a time. can anyone recommend a shipper?
  24. rang saturday andy, left message. I,m on 07899 811420 Chris
