Thats exactly what it sounds like. metal rain. so is my engine knackered or what can i do to fix it. iv spent a fortune on it and dont know how to fix it. i do most of my own work on the car so is it possible for me to fix it. please someone tell me how to fix this.

where do i start on a dett sensor. what do i fix. its been relocated and now doesnt show up on conzult so im confused

ok nothin showed up on conzult but it has had a det sensor relocation. bit of a botch job but i was able to plug it back into the old sensor which wire was still sat at the back of the engine. rattle is still there and shows up on conzult but is gone when i plug it back into the relocated sensor. so what now. i know i going bald from this as it taking me longer to wash my face.

ok lifted my rear wheels and went through the gears but she doesnt hit boost for some reason and no rattle. i have no boost controller. would a det problem show up on conzult? i presume it would.

not the aircon so i am going for a rear wheel lift to locate the prob. i have a mate to help me so he can stay in the car just in case it drops. will report back soon.

true stella very true. i dunno. pissin me off now. we have a meet next weekend and i want it sorted by then cause its a long drive.

yea gonna try that now before the lifting of rear wheels.

i am thinkin of jacking up the back wheels and putting it in 2nd gear and boosting it cause i am so out of ideas. not the best idea iv ever had tho. might locate the bloody rattle tho.

on another thread someone mentioned that the aircom pump might cause this. but it should rattle when standing still and rev'd if it was that rite.

where r they. my exhaust is stainless steel front to back.

baffles in exhaust? could be the turbo. hope not. she boosts fine tho.

gonna stay in galway on the saturday nite before the meet so if Slick and chayden wanna meet up and head for monaghan together we can.

cheers mate. i had it over the pit today for hours pulling and banging on things to check if they are loose. to give u an idea of the sound its like a socket stuck in the exhaust. wish it was now.

yea very maybe a tensioner. i was thinking the same. another bitch of a job. but not as bad as the turbo shaft. wouldnt the timing belt tensioner rattle when rev'd sittin stationary in the yard though.

ok mate i just done that and the engine is as quiet as a mouse. rev'd it several times and no rattle or knock. the mystery continues. as i said it only seems to happen when i am driving and boost it. o and i am only just back from town so the engine was warm.

on my way out now to see. 2 mins

ok i still cant seem to get rid of this bloody rattle and it is really starting to do my head in. ok when ticking over cars sounds fine i can rev up the engine and still sounds fine. Now when i take it out for a run all is ok until i push a little harder. as soon as get some boost i get this annoying rattle (metalic). the more boost the louder the rattle. i have checked heat shield around turbos and they seem fine. it seems to be coming from front passenger side. is there anything that i may have missed. iv also checked brake disk plate and also seems fine. :headvswal:headvswal:headvswal:mad::mad:

Hate them. had two of them, first one broke after 2 weeks. the replacement lasted 3 months so i got a refund after legal advice. And believe it or not i worked for them at the time. Am using Toshiba now and its the biz. Highly abused and full of crap but still works like new.

he spent all that money to try and make it into a lambo. someone please tell me what is the bloody point. for heavens sake do these people know that spending all that money to make it look awful is stupidity. ok, where do i start. a mate called who is into all things Nissan so took him for a spin in my Z to give him an idea of the power. made it 100 yards. Engine died. Thats ok i fiddled with a few connection and she fired up again after a few mins so got it home. Connected my conzult and it read code 11. so at least i knew what it was. connection was all broken and corroded so i changed it as well as the water temp sensor as that came up on the conzult too. Now took off the air intake pipes to access the connection and put the right side one on wrong ( didnt cover the throttle body correct) so when i started it blue smoke filled the garage. oh crap. fixed the pipe and it seemed to cure it but am very worried about it now. Then i decided to clean more connection and started on the injectors and hold crap they were green with corrosion. so done that. so need to ask 2 questions.1 with the intake pipe not fitted rite would that cause a garage full of smoke. 2 does anybody out there have some intake pipes i could have cheapish as i have left an obscene amount of money in her lately (full respray) and it has me broke. Apart from all that she runs really sweet and am tryin to get her in 100% condition bit by bit. Thanks lads and ladets

use a good compound and polish. but if u only compound the affected area it will show up the rest of the car so you may as well do the whole thing. make sure the car is wet when compounding and use a good polish. for dark coloured cars i think mer is a v good polish. also compound doesnt removes tar so detar it first. seems like alot for bird s--t but it'll be worth it in the end.

gud stuff mate. its always a blessing when they fly through. mine failed first time on slight corrosion on the underbody. easy fix really.

clean throttle bodys as this can give rough idle as it did on mine. get some carb cleaner open the throttle, spray in and use a rag to wipe around the inside.

WTF is your solicitor doing. My couz is a solicitor and cant see how this has not been sorted by now. My first job would be to get down to him and find out what your 4k has done for you. He sounds just as bad as the guy you got the car from. By the sounds of it that guy hasnt a leg to stand on so if should have been in court and settled by now. As said contract citizens advice and see what they say.
