  1. good idea. i'll think what i've got to spend. is it poss to do it in stages, such as pistons con rods, and later cams and cam gears, and then etc.
  2. oh what thats that one out of the window, What do you reccomend i should do? So does that mean Wesico and Eagle arn't upto the job? What would you reccomend, as i'm doing it bit at a time, it gives me more flexability.
  3. What pistons and conrods would be sufficient for a big build, i'm doing this bit by bit and need to look at replacing these soon the rest can follow later. I want to build the car upto 700+bhp but need pistons and conrods which can take the stick. what are Wiseco pistons and eagle rods like. They must be Cheaper than Jun, Greddy etc. for a reason are they amble for this kind of build. Reason why i don't just get Jun is because i'm on a budget and by the time you take everything into consideration this soon mounts up.
  4. ok thanks, my mechanic said that it could be my turbos or rings or something in the engine, if this is the case as a short term solution i have been advised to put thicker oil in. is this true? if it is what should i use?
  5. mmm..... prob is i havn't got the standered ones as the mupets who fitted my clutch lost them. what about two nuts screwed to gether really tight?
  6. I bought mine from a dealer and is a H reg been fairly lucky with mine but like the guys say there has been a few things wrong with it and spent a bit of money getting things right.
  7. about 6 month ago i fitted a short shifter and where the shifter connects to the linkage there is a long bolt. so i done this up really tight and then wasn't able to put the car in gear, so i kept loosining this bolt until i was happy it went it to gear easy enough (me being a wimp :D ). anyway this was fine until last weekend my gears went mad and felt like whatever gear it was in as if it was in neutral so i assumed it was this bolt which today i found out it was. the long bolt was half out and luckly found the nut next to the shaft so how can i do this nut up without it coming off? i can't do it up reallly tight as it's then so tight i have to use two hands to shift gear and still struggle. the car is currently in bits at the min so fast replies would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
  8. Chris out of interest how much are they and what size?
  9. i don't have one and seems fine to me, affraid thats as mechanical as i can get.
  10. ok, brill must be something else then. kinda hoping it was something simple causing the smoking problem.
  11. my car is really smokey at the min think it may be the oil. i'm running 10-40 i believe is this correct?
  12. i've got a funny feeling that mine arn't connected, yes it almost hits the +7 not far off, it's been like this for the couple of years i've owned the car i believe. will i notice much difference in power once this is fixed?
  13. youch and i was really going for it.
  14. i was looking for that, thanks.
  15. If they cruise around the city there is a good chance i know them or seen them about, most people know who i am from the Norwich area, iv'e been around the scene for a while i'm getting old school now
  16. How do i know when i've got a boost problem? i've got only the standered boost guage and also got a boost controller fitted. I noticed the other day, i can't get the needle to reach 7psi if i'm on low, high or off. i was under the impression that the needle would go off the dial if i was running 14psi but even when i turn the controller off it still doesn't hit 7psi but not far off. what does this mean?
  17. I was only just in Yarmouth, Yarmouth is only 20min from min so you'll get your rock next time. Although i had problems i still proper minced him and would of on the way home too..... being toed :D It seemed as if it shot up really fast, didn't notice it kreeping up slowly. I've had a really bad weekend, as i fecked the stereo too hoping it's only a fuse but it saying come and still me too thiefs as i can't get it to fold in, oh and before the stereo went it cut out when i turned it over half but i'm assuming this is something to do with a earth and recently having my arial removed it could be something to do with that.
  18. Nice one, the one place i didn't try. i had almost everything else apart under the dash.
  19. Sunday i spent most of the day looking for the fuse for my Stereo all i could find was the two in the engine bay. Could someone tell me what a num nut i am and where it is :D
  20. I was on my way to not so great Yarmouth when i come across a mx5 so we both went for it i came pass him then all my lights on the dash come on battery and that. looked at my temp it was sky high. so i slow right down until i could find a suitable place to stop and steam just poured out of my arches and engine bay (it did look really cool though like fast and furious style as it come out of the vents in my arches). anyway i opened the bonnet to find a belt just hanging there, it was the fan belt but not only that i got in the car and the gears felt really odd when it was in gear it felt as if it was in neutral, it felt really loose. How odd for both of these to go at the same time.
  21. last lot. :ttiwwop:  oh is that a gap in the bonnet :p
  22. ... getting there
