I would recommend a electroic boost gauge. Water temp and oil pressure and oil temp gauge. I have my avcr hidden away so I always go by my boost gauge. Some gauges come mechnical some electronic .. I prefer the electronic where possible, others dont ...

Just disconnect the battery for a couple of hours .. that should do the trick ...

add some washers to the BOV's so there is more pressure. I had this problem and it will help. As for the smoking, well I am not sure about that.

I will have a stab in the dark go .. lol My first thought was a dodgy MAF but I would have thought that this would happen not just at junctions. I would check the coilpacks and connections and it could be the PTU breaking down. Maybe a connection problem there. I guess it could be fuel related as well. Had you filled up before this happened? Have you checked the fuel filter? That is about as far as my knowledge goes. Sure someone will come along with some useful suggestions though. Chris
