  1. Just to clear up what you saying there, the coil packs have 3 connections, one 12v ignition live, one earth connection and one trigger pulse from the ptu, by the "no electricity" do you mean the 12v ignition live? because if you do then all of the coil packs are on a linked power supply that is fed from a relay in the fuse/relay boc on the passenger inner wing. However if you mean the trigger cable from the ptu then it will not show as a power supply with a conventional test meter. As mentioned by others the ptu connection us the place to start and trace back to the individial coil pack signal cable, most times though it is just a connection issue or an output failed on the ptu. 2. We supply and fit these clutches and flywheels, manufactured to our particular specification by a UK based company for us, no import duty , no overseas shipping cost and warranted in the UK by us. Jeff TT
  3. Ok anyone wanting small( ish) parts for your zed that I can bring to JAE Saturday post here and if we have them will bring them with us, will save on postage. Jeff TT
  4. As title, when paying on the gate for a single day on the club stand its £30 right? do any passengers have to pay £30 also or do they pay the £10? reason I ask is Jamie will be with me and it will be £20 cheaper for him to get out and pay as a walk in £10? Any thoughts Jeff
  5. Hi Daz just spoke to my recovery guy and can be at your house at 6.00am tomorrow will cost around £250 though. Jeff
  6. Daz, I know from what Jamie said you must be at the end of your patience, BUT from experience I would hazzard a guess that it is something you have been very close too or even actually dealt with but whilst looking for the problem it has created new ones. I can see how everyone is offering help and advise and despite you going through things many times it must seem impossible to track down. But Daz I have every confidence we can get you going as it just needs a clean view on it, I could have got it collected tonight if I had know earlier!!! one of your local recovery companies could have it to us in a couple of hours, tonight even if it helps, and you wait at home and come down on the train later once all is done.... just a thought. Jeff
  7. Yes will bring one with me Saturday, what pete said works though. Can bring these Saturday too if you wish? Eh? Jeff TT
  8. Sounds like they might be a bit slow closing after the throttle is closed, seen this a few times with many different makes of dump valves, even the twin psiton type ones do it, actually its a problem with any cars that run an air flow meter running atmospheric dumps, the original recircs always keep it in the system even when they are slow to respond, check see if they are adjustable, try closing them down a little, it could be just one causing the issue, you could try disconnecting the vacuum to one them to stop it operating as a test and then try the other one see if there is any difference between them Jeff
  9. Do you have dump valves by any chance? Jeff TT
  10. Is the noise and smell of rubber when the engine is running whilst stationary? if so most likely a seized air con belt pulley, if so easiest way around is to cut the belt, or if you have time replace the pulley, you can check it by releasing the tension and slip the (belt off from below) then the pulley bearing can be felt. Jeff TT
  11. None of the comments I have made above should be taken in an offensive or in a trouble making way, they are not been written with that in mind, just response to the thread reply. Jeff TT
  12. The alarm is probably the problem, most alarms will use a single cable connected to the door pins to trigger the alarm, the boot will not set the alarm off as there is a diode in the circuit to isolate the door and boot contacts from each other. The open door trigger is working as you said so the alarm is sensing a change on ethe circuit, however we have seen this when a few times when the alarm input trigger circuit has gone resistance and so the door open light glows. Try and find where the trigger cable is connected to the door pins, as most times alarm engineers favour the drivers side for everything, remove the sill cover and pull the carpet back, undo the door pin and gently pull on the cable this will show which one it is and bet you will find a non Nissan cable connected to it, this will be the alarm cable disconnect this and retest. 13. Not disagreeing with that Gary, without mods there would be anarchy. Jeff TT
  14. As Smithy mentioned the top speed defender is an old bit of kit these days mainly used in Japan to remove the 112mph limit they have there, a conversion to read in mph, a uk speedo or a chipped ecu will deal with that more effectively now. Jeff TT
  15. Exactly! left very little, the op must of felt robbed, but a new thread from the op is a good idea. Before any of my bold text comments above are taken in an offensive or trouble making way, they are not been written with that in mind, adding (lol )to the end of sarcastic comments to get away with them is often used to defend them, I have not done that here as they are just a clear response to the thread reply. Jeff TT
  16. That output is fine, the output voltage changes according to both vehicle demand, lights, heater etc and also the battery state of charge, this is dealt with by the regulator fitted in the alternator. A good test is to see what the voltage is when you apply load to the system such as lights, they may be a little dip but provided its stays above 13 volts its ok. Jeff TT
  17. not possible with a correctly installed belt, how come so many basic set up issues have been left unsorted to then be done at the RR session after been pre-checked? Building engines to big power should involve been set up correctly from the off, this "oh its on a run in map" is a cop out in my view and then to find basic timing issue, boost and tickover stability problems?? take it back to where it was done and demand it is sorted and get your RR money back for the wasted time. Jeff TT
  18. I have as you mentioned been a long term member here....well since Nico days ( long, long ago ), I do not profess to be an expert on been a mod or committe member far from it but what I am fairly good at is been a compasionate human being and tolerating anti-disabled comments with what seemed like a slow and weak response is against my understanding of what is right, I am no advocate of human rights per se as they get abused, but undefending the whole disability culture is offensive and thats what effectively happened. Yes of course the argument for wasters, benefit fraudsters etc. still stands but as soon as the thread became offensive it was time to become involved effectively, simply closing a thread but leaving it readable was pointless, ineffective or nonsensical, choose one, anyone. Jeff TT On a ligher not respect to you Gary for the work you have done, well done
  19. Genuine disabilities discussed on the 300zx forum A reprehensible and bigoted attitude that has let this forum down today, some of the representatives of the forum may want to take a hard look at themselves in the light of how a simple thread was hijacked but then even worse dealt with in an ineffectively weak manner, the forum needs to revaluate its position here and make a clear and correct stand. Shame on you all involved Jeff TT
  20. No, no, no ..... genuine Nissan only, no other belt fits correctly and gives the correct timing set up, even good named one`s do not line up like a genuine Nissan belt. Jeff
  21. 452bhp is nothing to be disapointed at depending of course at what revs and torque figures you got at the same time? as this will determine the drivability on the road, and how come the timing was out as it had been checked over ? thats poor. Personally I would not change the cams and instead go for adjustable cam pulleys, that way the exhaust valve opening can be delayed slightly which should improve on the generally poor header design, the restriction as you describe in the exhaust is not as bad a problem as the poor header tuning issues. Jeff TT
  22. Yes I did realise that, just was a general comment about after market adjustable suspension parts, its very difficult to know what to do for the best to be honest as no particular make gets a 100% thumbs up. Jeff TT
