fav all time aftershave
I've worn the plain old Chanel Pour Monsieur since I was 13; the old classics never die. Otherwise my favourite has to be Acqua Di Gio by Georgio Armani; I'm never without that one as it always smells fresh but not over-powering. For a new arrival, YSL "Homme" is also good; I've been wearing that on and off since September...... ........I normally have a few different bottles on the go just in case I feel like a change; I'm also a fan of Paul Smith (that green square bottle Stella mentioned), Cool Water, Eau Savage and Clinique Happy to name but a few. Richard:)

6 years off road
Hey fellas, Securicar is a registered user so he's not allowed to trade on here without subscribing. Rules are rules...... Securicar, mate - my advice, for £500 buy the car then if it's no good you can either sell it on for at least the £500 or use the best bits on your own car and sell the rest; bearing in mind the statement below! If you want to sell anything on here you will have to subscribe - for £20 it's more than worth it for the benefits you'll receive being a member. Richard

topgear or fifthgear
So true Si - IIRC, wasn't it you who pointed out that she looks like Rik Mayall:rofl: Made me laugh then and still does today:D Richard;)

topgear or fifthgear
Top Gear all the way....... 5th gear is dull; very dull and they take themselves too seriously (although Tiff is a driving god;)). TG is much more fun; more suited to the petrol head and has more super cars......... And TG rarely bothers with your average economic box - why watch a TV program dedicated to a diesel Ford Focus when our roads are full of them? Who cares whether it's getter than a Golf; just buy a copy of WhatCar, put on your flat cap, drive them yourself and chose:xxx: Richard:rofl:

car competion
Agreed:bow:

My Z is dead
If that's the late(ish), low mileage, UK spec manual car that I'm thinking of; then you must get it repaired. It would be one hell of a waste for that one to be written off. Richard ps sorry to hear of your misfortune, mate.:(

fto - thoughts?
I think they look OK but they're not my thing. I remember a magazine review a few years ago which IMO sums up the FTO........ ......"looks like it chases Porsches but in reality it just keeps up with Mondeos!" Richard:o

how long have you had your current
About 15 years..........:)

is a 300zx a good track car
A 300zx is a GT car - the modern equivalents are cars such as the Jag XKR and Aston DB7 (Note, not DB9 - that is a different league:bow:). It's not a stripped out racer like a Caterham; so not really built for the track...... ....The 300Zx was designed to compete with the Porsche 928GT (which it was able to beat around the 'Ring) and carry 2 people plus their luggage accross continents quickly and comfortably. Which it still does:p Richard:cool:

Selling a Modified Z
Wise words mate:cry:
-
Who is doing what to their zed.
Now that's a pampered Z! Si, if you ever have a mad moment and think of selling it please call me. I'll either talk you out of it...... ...or if I can't, I'll make you an offer:bow: Richard:D

Selling a Modified Z
My tuppence worth..... Hang in there Stuart. Yours is indeed a fine Z - and that's coming from someone who prefers the stock look! It may take some time but out there (somewhere) is a buyer who wants a car like yours. To buy a stock one and do the mods him/herself will cost a fortune so they would happily buy one (ie yours) already modded to their taste. Good luck mate, Richard:cool:

electric ariel
There's a relay thing....... .....it's like an opaque cigarette box sized item just around the right hand rear wheel arch (inside the boot trim). I replaced mine and that solved the problem. Richard;)

Mg sv
I agree, Si....... .......above all; it's a Rover:rofl:
-
My Zed is reliable. Is yours??
Mine's always been reliable. Not long after I bought it (originally as a daily driver), I changed jobs and drove the Z 50 miles each day. It's been a second car for a few years now but I still try to take it on most of our holidays - often driving it (fast and hard:nono:) for 1500 plus miles in a week without a hitch..... It's really only cost me money this year; firstly needing HICAS joints for the MOT, then £1200 for an auto box rebuild and the other week I needed a new petrol tank (cheers Snoopy:bow:) as the straps had rusted and become abrasive hence they wore through the tank. So apart from tyres and regular servicing; I don't think that repair costs amounting to around £1700 during a total of 35k miles is too bad for a 16 year old junior supercar:bow: Richard:cool:
-
Who is doing what to their zed.
Trying to drive it as much as it's practical to do so......... Richard;)

100000 Mile Service
Since you are based in Germany, I have to ask; do you mean 100k kms (ie 60k miles)? As Nick says the big ones are 60k and 120k miles....... Richard:cool:

Paint removal
I assume that you do not have the stock spoiler........ ......if so, then the "black" strip above the lights but beneath the spoiler just sticks on over the paint like a "go faster stripe:D" If your car has had the spoiler removed and the perspex strip painted, then do as Si says and buy a new one. It will work out much less effort and cost less than sanding, prepping etc etc. Richard:)

belgium
They make a few mate........ ........but I can't think of the one you mean either:rofl:
-
belgium
Agreed - so do I. Great food and beer - a fresh lobster and belgian fries washed down with a few glasses of Brugge Blonde:bow: Richard:cool:
