  4. I need one new rear tyre on the Merc so I have been looking at prices on the 'net today and thought this place might be of interest to some of you.... http://tyresavings.com/ For one 245/35/18Y Continental Sport Contact 3 MO fitment, most places were coming in at around £190 fitted. I paid that for one back in the spring and E-tyres price is currently £187..... .....but these guys can do it fully fitted for £168! They use your nearest Halfords Auto Centre - you just have to book a day and a time, you don't pay anything up front and it's not a bad saving!! Especially as Camskills price for supply only (ex delivery) is £150 for the same tyre - and I don't have to mess around squeezing it into the boot of the car and finding someone to fit it!! Richard:cool3:
  5. I reckon us old Luddites should go out there and start a smashing spree......:winkiss:
  6. Interesting.....? Richard:winkiss:
  7. LOL - I know Dean!! I have a perfectly good Nokia C3-01 with a normal keypad and a touch screen..... I like that phone so I'm keeping it just in case!! I have paired the HTC with the MB phone system; and it works fine. I have also paired it with the Kenwood unit in my ZX - again it works fine, except that for some reason the bloody phone book is displayed with surnames first in the ZX. Why, I do not know!! I'm also not convinced as to its ability to pick up a signal though. I know that Orange has a transmitter out of action in my area at the moment - which might explain why the HTC loses the signal intermittantly. However Julia's Nokia (also on Orange) had a good signal all day today - and when I popped my new SIM back into the C3 earlier it also picked up a strong signal. I have decided to stick with the HTC for a week and see how it behaves in all circumstances. At worst, it could have an internal aerial fault so I'll have to get a replacement at the weekend if it persists. But at least I'd have tried..... ....and Rich, good call on the alcohol mate!! It worked last night!! Richard:winkiss:
  8. I agree - I hate this too..... .....and I have moaned about it before on here as well.....:2guns: Richard:winkiss:
  9. Good idea Bri - and the scoring will also give the sealant somewhere to be compacted into when the bolts are tightened!!
  10. I don't think there is a gasket - just use a good sealant when reassembling it mate..... .....that's how Jeff did my waterpump and thermostat back in August! I was surprised there were no gaskets; although Jeff says Nissan did use them on the USA spec cars..!! Richard:cool3:
  11. Looking good Daffy; so you're selling the MR2 then mate....? ....Are you returning to the world of Z ownership by any chance....:detective: Richard:cool3:
  12. Welcome to the club my friend - I do like you 300zx too; and definitely prefer the "after" pictures of it in white!! Richard:cool3:
  13. Glad you survived it Andy - have some rep mate!! Richard:sorcerer:
  14. Yup - I have spent the afternoon on the HTC website reading how to do anything.......:winkiss: Good to know I'm not alone Bri - I fully agree on the TV issue as well. Hell, if you buy a wide-screen TV, why the f*** do you STILL get the bloody "letter-box" picture. The damn TV is already made to facilitate that FFS.....!!! So I hear mate - but it is also too big for my liking as I prefer the smallest, slimmest, lightest phone that will sit in my back pocket and not get in the way or break if I fall on my arse during the odd outdoor pursuit. The iPhone is just too much more than just a phone for my liking - and I'm sure I would be happy living with the damn thing I got today; if only it came with a good old fashioned instruction book!!! Richard:winkiss:
  15. Good news mate!! Richard:sorcerer:
  16. I know mate - like I said, I'm a dinosaur and don't cope well with these new fangled toys!!! Richard:whistling:
  17. What is it with stuff nowadays - I am normally a patient man, but as Jeremy Clarkson has said before, "Everything is rubbish and doesn't work....!!" On a whim this morning, I decided to upgrade my mobile phone. Now whilst I appreciate the workmanship that is the new i-Phone5 and the capabilities of it's (so-called) rival the Samsung Galaxy, or whatever; I am still a dinosaur and want a mobile phone that is, well, a phone. I just want to make calls and the occasional text; plus make sure it connects with the Bluetooth systems in my SLK and ZX.... .....so with my trusty Nokia C3-01 looking a bit 20th century, I bit the bullet and picked a free HTC Desire C; so at least it looks like it's a bit contemporary. The chap in the shop was quite helpful and supposedly acknowledged that it was more of a "telephone" than some handsets available..... So I went for it. Firstly, I am not overwhelmed with the touchscreen thingy; although I guess I'll get used to it. But what really really boils my piss is the fact that there is no instruction book:hammer: Yes, I'm a man and we normally do not read the things - but come on, really? All I want to do is read the basics, like how to get rid of the stupid f***ing widgets and icons on the home screen but all the "settings" do is bloody add them. If I want to know anything, even how to open the damn thing and put the SIM card in, I have to log into HTC's website - on the home PC, as I have no instructions how to do it on the f***ing phone. This is not a good way to endear me to your product HTC; and if, by tomorrow, I haven't thrown the f***ing thing out of the window (or sold it on Ebay) I might just call your f***Ing helpline and tell you what I think of your company......:2guns: Sorry - rant over....:winkiss: Richard:censored:
  18. Happy birthday Nick!! Richard:cool3:
