  7. That and the extended oil change intervals; plus (allegedly) better protection against engine wear...... To give you a little comparison, I have usually used Shell Helix Ultra fully synthetic 5w40 in my Z; I drive it around 5,000 miles per year, consequently I have the oil and filter changed annually. And when it was time for an oil change, the old oil (when checking the dip stick) was still always a nice clean gold colour 12 months and 5k miles later..... Last year I took advantage of a special offer and bought some Castrol Magnatec semi-synth 10w40; again a very good oil and more than adequate for the 300zx TT. However I did notice just after Christmas, when checking the oil, that it looked like it needed changing - instead of remaining a nice clean gold colour, it was very dark brown. Needless to say, when I had the oil and filter changed last week, I reverted to the tried and trusted Shell Helix fully synthetic once more:wink: The engine still sounds quiet and smooth - plus the oil pressure is still bang on where it should be at all speeds and temperatures!! Richard:cool:
  8. Nice work Si.... And dead right Joel.....
  9. Sorry to hear of your misfortune Sarah - but I am pleased to hear that you are unhurt.... ....Good luck in what you decide to do with the car...:flowers: Richard:clover:
  10. Ditto - and I do like the black wheels on a blue ZX.... Me? Drove it, washed it, put it back in the garage before the rain set in once more....
  11. A belated happy birthday Paul; I hope you had a great day mate!! Richard:happybday::thumbup:
  12. Nice work Lee - as ever mate....
  13. Good news matey - and thanks for your support...
  14. I get what you mean Steve; as the rear fogs in the bumper are a little dated now.... ....But I actually prefer the UK spec rear number plate over the (daft) J-spec square one... For me, a combination of the two would look best - a UK spec, but without the fog lights....
  15. Ahh to hell with it.... ....If you like classical and rock music; why not combine the two.... Richard :cool2:
  16. Good call Chris..... Richard:lol:
  17. The last one from me tonight.....:gunsmilie:
  18. And another......:punk:
  19. Very nice piece of music Bri.... But you can't beat a bit of Queen..... ....And here's one from the best movie EVER!!!!
  20. Hi folks, As mentioned in the "Club Announcements" section, Harby300 (Kevin) has very kindly stepped up to the role of joint REO with Bird (Lee) for the region. With the recently enlarged area, it made sense to have 2 REOs; to ensure more activity in organising events in the area..... So please welcome Kevin to the fold; and thanks for volunteering Kev - I know you'll do a great job mate!! Richard:cool:
  21. I'd like to announce the appointment of a new Joint Regional Events Organizer for The NE & Yorks area. Following the merger of the North East and the Yorkshire regions, due to the larger area, and to help Bird (Lee) plan future local meets, the committee (along with Lee) has given its backing to Harby300 (Kevin) becoming a joint REO for The NE & Yorks with immediate effect. On behalf of The Committee, I'd like to congratulate Kevin on his new role within the club; and thank him for stepping up to the role! Richard Smith Club secretary For The Committee
  22. PMSL - makes you wonder what was actually wrong with the circuit to do that....
  23. It's a "work in progress" at the moment folks.... When Lee launched the classifieds section the other month, most people did not use it and continued to post in the old "for sale" sections. So whilst we probably all agree that some kind of formal selling template system is the way forward (and should help both seller & buyer in the process), we need to implement the new system and phase out the old..... So Lee is devising a solution to do just that! ....Lee will explain it better than me though! Richard:cool:
  24. ....Or use a bow to fire an arrow with a message attached....... And there's smoke signals, semaphore or the good old fashioned "two cups and a length of string".....
