NO, You can fit the controller now, set it at say 8psi, when you get round to it, fit a JD or AndyP chip and then up the boost on the controller once done. Cost of chip fitted is only around what, 80-100 quid so no biggie. smithy

Any roofers on here??
Worked on roofs for around 15 years after leaving school and 6K sounds just a wee bit steep. It is possible to spend say 500 quid doing some repairs to keep the mortgage peeps happy for now. Later on get some more quotes for just putting the roof on, it's real easy to strip yerself and you'd save a packet, roofers can roof a semi in a weekend no probs and they actually prefer the roofing part rather than all the stripping. Oh and being pre war house, you may find theres a grant towards doing the roof, certainly is for over here. If yer wern't in a hurry i'd have a look for yer, am over picking the Z up 2nd April and coming back on the ferry, so could pop by and have a gander. smithy

Fan shrouds
Geez, well i would never have thought that now bud, the mounts don't effect shroud fitment, as far as i know the design of them both is the same, so yer would never have thought that with the TT being slightly thicker it would make much difference. Just as well i ain't got one :) smithy

Urgent Help please
CAS can go at literally anytime whether yer messing with it or not. Even second hand running PTU's can be removed from one 1 zed and to another to find it no longer works, I know once with my own that was the case. smithy

Urgent Help please
No spark is usually the CAS, the round alloy block opposite side to the PTU. Mark/scribe where the bolts mount in the CAS bracket, undo all 3 and remove CAS, Turn iginition on and with CAS still connected to electrical plug, turn the spindle at the back slowly, you should here a few clicks of the injectors as you turn the spindle, no clicks, CAS is likely to be shot. if yer hear clicks then put back in same position before you removed it and fit bolts as per the marks/scribe you made. soaked plugs tends to suggest it was flooding when trying to start, the temp sensor is likely cause of that, reason for removing the fuel fuse is to dry things out a bit when trying to fire up and she would normally start, albeit rough after about the 4th or 5th try. smithy

Planned mod
Correct, you wouldn't alter a chip in an ECU just becuase of fitting a boost controller. Your ECU should be goodn for all mods right up to the point of bigger injectors. AndyP and John Dixon can look at your ECU's maps and tell you what they think as well, for a small fee possibly :) smithy

Intake pulley
TBH mate, am thinking it's not the replacement pulley your fitting. What i done was ran the engine and with cam covers off, held a small piece of cardboard directly above the pulley, under normal revs if this pulley is leaking, it will splatter the card with oil. You say you think it happens under load ? pullies would leak simply on tickover. The techies know more than me as to what actually happens underload, but worth trying the above to be certain. smithy

Intake pulley
Jun do them for around 350 quid me thinks. The only thing with fitting aftermarket/adjustable ones is they disable the VTC. However i do recall reading about a guy who claimed he got around that, somehow! I'll search for yer, either way easy enough to get em bud. imo it's so rare for more than 1 set being fitted to be leaking in same spot, your deffo 100% it's not actually a wee bit further in where the Cam comes through to the pulley ? Have you ran the engine with the covers off and actually seen oil being sprayed up at you as the pullies spin ? smithy

Anyone near cannock walsall etc that could help
Because of the closeness of Zedworld to this guy and wanting sorting out smart like with a visit to home as well, I TOLD HIM !! Hope that explains things................... btw, yer getting even quicker mate, only took yer 5 mins this time to spot summit regarding jeff that could be turned negative for the other sharks! cheers smithy

Cam Gear Covers
Best of luck with this mate, I know myself and one other member here looked into this and costs were crazy! Moulding/tooling costs were so much that even with a small moderate production cost they still were not viable. If you are however successful, let me know as i can shift these for you worldwide along with my other products, no probs :) BTW, cos these are clear plastic, they will get dirty inside quite easily, with a slight modification on the top and centre fixings before production, it will enable customers to remove the covers easily and quickly for cleaning, something you can't do very easily/quickly at the moment. cheers smithy

UK Customs
If you've any sort of tracking No., it will show if it's at customs or not and if they are holding it pending payment, if no number, they won't even talk to you. smithy

FAO: Smithy
Hmm look tasty my man :) As for bedding in, most brake companies i've spoken too about this, when new discs and pads, heat em up baby, a number of stops to get the heat in. cheers smithy

Pidgeon Mod
I can only assume that was on the S13, a car desigend without the dump valve, but then 1 advantage of the dump valve is a very slight increase of throttle responce anyways, so summit's not right there. Fraid you've lost me on the part that factory fitted or aftermarket RE-CIRCS vent to atmosphere, the name simply tells you the opposite and as for emission reasons, am even more baffled. Anyways, this might be of use to yer http://www.twinturbo.net/ttnetfaq/FAQpages/bov.html Though you seem head strong on removing a factory part that isn't broken, will have no benefit what so ever when removed ( I know for fact from experience) and may cause early turbo failure at the very least, which if it does, will cost you more in parts/labour than yer average S13 and some S14's cars are to buy!! Good luck smithy

Importing Parts & Accessories
When importing you need to allow for an average plusage of approx 21%. Even goods described as warranty replacement ARE subject to duties, everything has a value, the item and the postage paid, so you pay duties/taxes and VAT on all these, plus sometimes a fee to the handler/courier company which is also vatable! You can devalue the goods BUT should the parcel go missing or be damaged, you can only claim the amount specified on the paperwork, so beware. I've been importing every week for a few years now and am still yet to find a gauranteed way of beating the system. ;) smithy

Car broke down today....so fvckin pi$$ed off
If CAS has packed in which often happens, it won't send the signal to the ECU to say TDC which inturn sends the signal to fire the injectors, so no fuel. Easiest way is a diagnostic check which will show this error code or you can remove the CAS, 3 x 10mm bolts ( mark 1st with felt pen where they sit in CAS bracket) once removed, ignition on and turn the spindle at the back slowly, you'll hear injectors click, no click means a blown CAS. how hard can it be to find some decent series 2 door cards
Seeing as yer re-trimming the cards fella ANY uk spec will do yer, you don't have to use a series 2 of any spec. Should be loads around of UK spec ones. Thats why your having problems getting these, cos your asking for just series 2 cards, now it's not thant, you can easily get sorted. Oh and you can remove the tweed quite easily by warming it up with a hair drier, takes about 40 mins a card and will leave the foam still intact. smithy
-
how hard can it be to find some decent series 2 door cards
Sure do and unless tony wants a material other than tweed, then ANY uk spec door cards will do for which there are plentiful. smithy

Pidgeon Mod
I said that at the start, yer right engine wise it won't cause a problem. Nissan didn't fit them to the s12 or s13 but did s14 and onwards to prevent the turbo slowing down on pressure build up and keep the boost curve smooth. It's a complete senseless mod to remove them just for the sake of it as in doing so will not benefit you in anyway either, so why do it ? if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But like i also said before, if yer wanna do it you'll be the only one ever heard off doing so for no apparant reason, so crack on. cheers smithy
