  1. I'll never understand why we have Stealth mode, what exactly is the point of hiding! As for PM's, the receipt function tbh is worthless, when PM's come through, they send you an email and in that email you can read the full PM without even logging on  smithy
  2. Thanks fella, i know it was somewhat a sad request, but hey am hooked :D cheers smithy
  3. Don't suspose anyone who watches this has recorded all the episodes and fancies flogging me a copy ? cheers smithy
  4. Understandable mate, save up and get the z1's, still cheap too.. Around 8 years ago i spent a day with a company down south wales who do nothing but manufacture coolers and rads for the rally brigade worldwide and have been for 20 years, i was amazed at how much work goes into them tbh. Point of me being there was to have coolers and rads done for the Zed, once made costs would not have made them that viable to make a small profit, which i could understand having seen the guys doing their stuff and the vast amount of different types of cores. smithy
  5. Dave, you must have been to enough rolling roads by now to know that a car will still perform it's power run for all of 1 minute on the rollers to get a power output, but it does not mean the coolers are highyly efficient. Some years ago many of us went to Thor for a dyno day, i unfortunately smashed No.6 piston, but hey. Anyways nearly all the zeds were on stock coolers and running high IC temps, they all managed prety good figures for their mods and the odd zed with aftermarket coolers ran cooler temps but more importantly, for longer and that's my point. That is what represents actually driving, the time the car is running and having air blasted onto the coolers themselves and the car is still performing as it should. At 75 quid a side and that includes the profit the seller is making, built well INTERNALLY is what matters, not outside where you can see. I agree though, literally anything is better than knackered old units, however in good working order they do perform to a certain extent, bare in mind they were each designed to flow for a 1.5cc engine and with small mods, they still work. Getting enough air to the face is probably the biggest problem, yep that pic for you was good, for me it was bad cos it shows just how much core is hidden and you have no real choice but to make the fog lights into ducts just in a hope of getting enough air through, cos any duct designed would need to be like a bleedin ski slope! As for Ash, well unfortunately like many others from the US, i would to agree sadly. Alls am trying to point out to anyone, seriously consider what this item is meant to do, just how little your paying for it @75 quid a corner ( a half decent core costs that). Am happy with my greddy's so all this makes no difference to me, but i would hate to see someone blinded by what appears to be to them as a fantastic bargain :) Oh and for whoever does buy them, a dyno run with temp charts for before with stockies and an after with these coolers really would be a good idea. Outta all those sold so far, no one seems to have posted that info up, yet! smithy
  6. That's flow test results mate, which yep are good. However they should be too cos it is also in relation to size of the unit. What your looking for is when some one's taken their Zed to the rollers and the mapper has indictated how much the intake charge temps have reduced. To accurately compare these coolers it would need the very same car checked before fitting and after fitting them. High intake charge temps= BOOM! :D Cheers Smithy
  7. Well your deffo the guy for that, lol For cheap money for coolers if it was me, Z1's or Ashspecs :smash: smithy
  8. Right i've just bored meself reading 10 pages on 300zxclub about them. After all those pages no one would still post up numbers on the coolers and i don't mean flow testing numbers, i mean numbers whilst fitted to the car they are meant to fit. I have seen all the bumf on the aussie forum too, watched the GB as it went on and can see them being sold second hand now too!. What exactly do we want to see when new coolers are fitted ? i know what i think it should be, Legrath, Jimmy ?? then find me a post that someone has done saying what the result was, and i'll give yer a tenner!! With all due respect as regards the 700bhp zed using Godpseed coolers, this would be the 1st time this forum has believed a US power run figure and it's actually his other modifications that give him this or any other power, answer the question above and then i wonder what this guys figure was whilst doing his runs. Oh and all that power from a stock ECU with a JWT Dual pop chip, wowwwww This pic really shows how great they are for the zeds bumpers http://www.cardomain.com/member_pages/show_image.pl?bg=FF0000&image=http://memimage.cardomain.com/member_images/10/web/2074000-2074999/2074139_94_full.jpg All those on the US and Aussie forum bought them cos they were BIG and cheap, their own words! as one guy said, when buying new tryes would you pay 50 bucks for bigger similar looking tyres or 500 bucks for correct sized and performing tyres that you know WILL do the job. Man, 75 quid a side for the coolers, @50p an hour for fabrication, hmm yep almost there  smithy
  9. Am gonna hazard a guess your fingers are hardend from when you were a kid and your mum said, don't do that you'll burn yourself! Explains why your now a chef but not why you still do some other things :p smithy
  10. Don't forget that price does NOT include any coilovers, you must buy those first and then buy top secret's "cup kit" to match the coilovers you purchased. Airbagit kit uses their air struts inplace of normal strut's/coilovers etc. I have posted a fair bit about the kit, as danny says have a wee search and see how you get on. Oh it's also fitted to another Zed, Paul the owner of Knightsbridge in Nottingham. cheers smithy
  11. Yep, if you can see rust going in a line from around the seatbelt bolt point and heading towards the centre of the floor pan and you have this from both sides, in nearly all cases the car is scrapped. If you only have a wee bit from either side, it means the No.4 panel needs replacing which can be costly but still do-able, i done mine! If no rust visable with rear carpet lifted, then worst case is the other 3 panels need replacing and certainly the outer 2 are real easy to do and not expensive at all :) HTH Smithy
  12. There are a few on here who do it, but seeing as your in tamworth and Zedworld have done countless ECU chips, why not just pop along there. smithy
  13. Well that's a good sign mate :) There are actually 4 panels in total and the one where you just checked is No.4, which means at worst the other 3 need replacing or work doing to them. The 4th one takes the rear suspension and is a hefty thing and costs a small fortune, nearly 300 quid a side. If still available from Mike feeney or zcentre i would buy the outer 2 sections, about 80 quid in total and have a metalwork shop cut and fit them, then a bodyshop finish the top surface. I say metalwork shop because they tend to be a bit more precise with their cutting and shutting without the need for filler. But certainly your looking at hundreds now and not the 2K plus you were quoted. :hyper: smithy
  14. For the cost of the valves and hoses along with an hour or so, it's gotta be worth trying mate as the worse case could be big money, so good luck :) Keep us posted how you get on. smithy
  15. Came over to the mainland a year or 2 back to buy a Zed with a local guy. Turned out it was one of Tonyc's previous zeds and fitted were venoms (550cc) anyway car didn't run very nice at all and i had previously found out John dixon had tried to map it, something he's very good at too :smash:. Anyway he struggled to do this and eventually done a map based on the injectors being around 420cc, this made the car drivable to a certain extent. So once the car was back, fitted Nismo 555's in, John sent over a chip to suit and the car goes like stink and runs smooth as silk. So make of that what you will :) Oh and the old injectors were binned! Story of bad venoms has been around for many years now on all forums around the world. smithy
  16. It was in the wrong section for discussion at the time, it's been moved into here, that's all mate :) smithy
  17. Good choice :) am looking to experiment with black chrome on some parts over the next few months. smithy
  18. No probs, anyone else for hard to find parts :D smithy
  19. http://www.mynismo.com/products/?id=2534 :) smithy
  20. Good luck mate :) In the meantime it would be good if a Mod could move the post to general to keep this section as it should :) smithy
  21. Now c'mon just how many on here did yer think would own up to that, theres only 5 or 6 zeds in the I.O.M :D anyways, it's one of Tonyc's old Zed's which was once Silver but sprayed in a kinda Blue with lightening strikes on it :) Hardly ever moves though, shame.. Mines always just up the road from there where i work :hyper: smithy
  22. John, so you can see for yourself if it's worth carrying on you can check it out yourself, i assume it's a UK spec ?? anyway, remove the rear seat lower seat section, pull the carpet forward so that as much of the rear footwell area is exposed. From where the seat belt bolt holds the belt coil in place you should see a line of rust and possibly a crack heading inwards towards the centre of the floor. If this rust/crack is only a few inches long then though still bad cos it's come from under the suspension, it is fixable, however if the rust/crack has travelled and you have one each side of the car and they almost meet in the middle, then tbh, it is scrap time, soz Seen loads of UK zeds in this way and ALL were scrapped when the rust almost or did meet in the middle. Many peeps have had the outside sills repaired and possibly missed this area. smithy
  23. Maybe i can answer both of those for you fella. It's good your happy with the results, people generally are if they look favourable! however you could dyno your car at 3 garages on the same day and they would all give different final bhp readings. What the mapper inputs, the ambeient temperature and even what part of the Uk your at plays apart in the final figure. Now as said, your right at the limit if not just over what many would say is a safe area to be, for the cost of another dyno run whilst meeting other fellow zedders, to me would confirm your figures are about correct, but also a second opinion on the other parameters within tuning an engine, being correct, this would give either give you total peace of mind all is correct and safe or consider taking on board the advice given here. Because your happy with the power, i think you don't want to consider the latter, many have thought that way before and am sure they wished they hadn't! Now as for joing, yep you get the usual stickers, tax disc and magazine etc but you also get to use the Group buy, the buy and sell facillity, which you previously have, but won't be able to now. But more importantly information from the correct source that could save you more £'s than you could ever expect. If you take on board the posts in this long thread and do as advised, potentially you could save at least 100 times the subscription money!! In fact looking through your previous posts, we've given you lots of help and advise over the years which has gotta be worth a lot more than the paltry subscription fee asked Or you can carry on using non 300zx specific websites/forums as your previous link and get possible incorrect info! Am not saying we will stop replying to your requests, however i would expect at some point, replies will be fairly thin on the ground and after 5 years, i think you could be at that point! Oh and certainly any more frigging "lols" when there's nothing funny about what your posting, i'll not bother replying with help and i really like to think after all these years, i do know Zeds! Smithy
  24. Yep you can fit em so that's a bonus for you, takes a little work to do though and you can use your e-mange to take care of fueling, but still get coolers 1st.... smithy
