Ferodo DS2500 v Mintex 1155 ?
Hi mate cheers for the info! I have the Dba5000 but i dont know what pads do go with them? If it was me mate, despite that Ferodo's squeel, it is not with all combinations and they are a dam good pad anyway, so i'd go with them ;) smithy

nismo 555 or 740?
The nismo 555's failing mate is really in relation to the US who have an addative in their fuel which nismo's just don't seem to like. 555's can be fitted in literally any model zed ( providing you buy the right ones, lol) whereas 740's in an early Zed will require a new fuel rail likes of the 300 degree one. But certainly don't be put of ny the 555's, there are shit loads of guys in the UK using them without any probs ;) smithy

Boost Leak Or Dodgy MAF/AFM???
A quick 10 minute ECU diagnostic should show up if the MAF is not registering correctly. You can also unplug the MAF with engine running to see if the engine behaves differently, if MAF is faulty then with plug off it should remain the same same, if MAF not faulty the engine respnce should change. smithy

Ferodo DS2500 v Mintex 1155 ?
Ah theres clearly something here, was only thinking last week when i asked a question on your thread and you ignored it, i thought then, hmm my telepethy has gone down so i'll wait. Then i thought hang on, i gave an offer of help the few days before when i showed a website giving you advice on your brake kit and that was ignored to, so clearly somehow and someway i've pissed you off, so rather than being a knob, PM me what it is and we can keep the threads in relation to their subjects. Afterall in this case, a question was asked and i knew the answer, thats what comes with nearly 10 years experince in supplying Zed products to this forum, sozzzzzzzzzzzzz:rolleyes: smithy

Ferodo DS2500 v Mintex 1155 ?
My ds2500's squeel with my KAD big brake kit. As Markzx said, it really is often down to the disc/pad combination.... Joely, the 3G range of discs danny at DTA sells are Brembo's machined to their own spec, if that helps. smithy

Zedworld
Well mate that is a darn shame, i know you'd been there a few times before this with no issues and this is clearly "human error" (lack of or interrupted concentration) Obviously in your case the nuts are loosend off for the Geometry/tracking alignment and meant to be tightend back up again afterwards and that last bit didn't happen. So what did Jeff offer to do when you rang him and said you'd jacked the car up and spotted this ?? If theres one thing he does far better than any other garage i've ever come across in all my years, that it's on the those rare occassions when things go wrong, he does his upmost to put it all right again. :) smithy

Zedworld
No mate, it was in no relation what so ever to their mechanical skills. They are in fact the longest established Zed specialist in the UK and probably have the best set up too. Currently expanding in to far bigger and even better kitted out premises due to high workload etc. So give them a bell or go and see them :) Oh and as Grahame says they have a section on Zclub too... smithy

Overheating and big thankyou to AndyDuff
The stock rad cap is more than capable of doing it's job even on a modified zed. Either source a Nissan one or borrow one for a couple of hours from a nearby zedder to eliminate that as the cause. You happy the viscous fan is working correctly at speed ? Can you list exactly what jobs you had done whilst repairing the split pipe. Oh and with engine running, have you unscrewed the air bleed screw on top of the rad until water appears to be wanting to come out ? smithy

changing clutch
Thats just the clutch disc on it's own and is for the non turbo fitment mate. smithy

450bhp at the fly
Legrath is pretty much bang on with that mate, it's certainly a good bench mark and of course it depends are prices for parts and who's doing the labour, but his listing is good  We already have forged rods in our blocks and deffo not a weak point and for a measley 450 at the fly, not worth the expense of parts or labour. All i would add is new bearings if doing the rebuild, cost around 100 quid but well worth doing. smithy

ripped off?
Fitting 1 injector can be a time consuming job, cheapest way is a slight dremel at the side of the plenum, though some don't like doing that. Costly way is to remove plenum and fit the injector, only done this once a long time ago, but certainly it should be off, injector fitted and all working again by just after lunch time. New gasket and 2 O rings required so i would expect a bill to be around the 200 quid area. P.S have heard of scary price like this before for an injector swap. smithy

Manual Gearbox What to do?
Zedworld were holding a box for me for a local guy who's still dithering about it. Anyways it came of a UK spec with only 25k on it, yep 25K  Can't remember the price cos i wern't buying it, so give them a ring and ask if you like, cos am bored waiting on my mate to decide and feel they were just holding it for me. http://www.zedworld.co.uk/wizzc.html smithy

head gasket and bore
Aye the US use thousand's of an inch, mm is soooo much easier , lol just checked their site and the 0.51" relates to 1.2mm But yes your right, sorry getting confused they do a cometic now 1mm over bore size, never used to years ago when i first started selling :D smithy
-
head gasket and bore
Oopps! in that case yep wap the 88's in and if fitting cometic it will be spot on for you, just order the 1.2mm set. cheers smithy
-
head gasket and bore
If your buying cometic gaskets mate, it's thickness they are ordered in. Headgaskets are slightly bigger than the bore size. Generally you would go with 1.2mm cometics, if that's what your using and yep would be fine with 88mm pistons. This size piston would require a slight rebore though, whereas the 87.5mm ones would require just a deglaze-hone the bores (slightly cheaper and the extra 0.5mm of piston will gain you nowt) hth smithy

Can anyone help with my problem??
It can fry the chip and put the ECU in safety mode, hence the AUX fan and warning lights coming on OR, it can fry a circuit in the actual ECU, the latter i know from experince, lol smithy
-
Can anyone help with my problem??
From the way you said this, can you confirm you fitted the chip and not z1 ? if so, no one will take responsibility for their chips if not fitted by them, it is soooo easy to fit it back to front ( depending on type of chip used) If you had Z1 fit the chip into your ECU, it would have to be tested before shipping it out and you would then know, once ECU is plugged it, it's going to work. I have to be blunt and say, have the chip supplier also install the chip, it's the only safe way and gaurantee too! smithy
-
pistons +rings how much ???
For the 87.5mm ones a simple hone and deglaze the bores is ample, 88mm upwards a rebore and even then it's really minimal (88mm). smithy
-
pistons +rings how much ???
Am fine bud, just watching with interest how your going with the build mate and certainly wishing you all the best with it ;) smithy
-
pistons +rings how much ???
That is as cheap yer ever gonna get Steve and pretty much the most common piston peeps use. Stock, which i would never advise anyone to fit, i would expect to be more expensive! smithy
