  1. I prefer the top ones, but powder coat the rims too
  2. I would get finer than 1500 if you are talking about internal car parts. I would say at least 2000 or 2500. you dont not want to put scores on the lifter. It is unlikely you will with 1500 but you are even less likely with 2000 or 2500
  3. Search on Twinturbo.net and 300ZXclub.com. I have heard mixed reactions from these turbos
  4. I think I remember seeing it. But different cars react differently to different situations. I have done it by dropping the clutch and letting the TC do the job and it worked. But you have to set the rev limiter at the right setting. I have also done it with slipping the clutch out, and it is a lot quicker. Sometimes the TC doesnt activate which is a bonus.
  5. My experience with traction control is dropping the clutch is the worse thing you can do. It causes instant wheel spin and then the TC starts its process of misfiring to get the revs down, the revs drop even more because you dropped the clutch in the first place. The 2 combine causing the revs drop very low and the car bogs down. The best way is to keep the revs bouncing at 4500 and then slip the clutch out letting the TC do its job keeping the wheels from spinning. Whats this ABS think you are talking about on the RLTC? It works off your ABS.
  6. I know. I found that out ;) We also wet it. :D We also had a huge dust extractor.
  7. We sprayed laquer on the floor. Thats traps the dust and then makes a nice shiney smooth surface to clean out the dirt before spraying.
  8. I think they are a fad. Like bonnet stripes, neon washers, Lexus style lights and now "Brows" on lights, they are horrid, here today and in a few months is embarassing to have. Sorry.
  9. Linux is another type of operating system. ;) What needs copying?
  10. 4 will be plenty. I used about that much because many parts had to be resprayed again. Buy one of those all in one clothing things for painting. YOu can get them at Homebase, B&Q etc. Its not to keep the paint off you but to keep the dust from you,= or your cloths from getting on the paint. When the paint goes on, every thing is attracted to it. you will be amazed how much comes off your cloths. Dust, dirt, washing powerder cloth fibers.
  11. AVI is the system which supplies air and fuel to the cats in the down pipes to get them to working temperature quicker.
  12. Go to TT.net and say you have an unorthodox one or any other SPG one and you will get flamed. They are not balanced with the engine. They are balanced with themselves but not with the engine. A really good after market pulley will cost you over £500 for a lightened, balanced and dampened pulley.

I would be up for that. Thor would be good, but setting up each car takes just too long. Can they set up 2 cars at once? Or maybe test one car while the other is getting jacked up and having the wheels taken off.
  14. A spider turd? Is there a vote for most boring picture ? ;) I want to vote for this one. ;)
  15. I have heard that they are not very good. They where on the Skyline wheels when I got the car. The rears had to be replaced right away because they where down to the thread. I was expecting to get rid of the fronts asap because of the bad stories I have heard. However, they where quite good on the front. The dry use was responsive and in wet conditions the tyre did really well. Only thing I noticed is that they dont like being at the wrong PSI. I was playing round with the pressures and found that the performance dropped baddly even with just a 2 PSI difference. Usually the car doesnt feel quite right with the front tyres pressure slightly out, but these where awful. Once they where correct, they where a very good tyre. I would think about giving them another try, if the price was right.
  16. Under pulley is the big wheel at the front of the engine which turns the belts for the powersteering, air con and fan. Power is lost because the engine has to spin it round. The pics are of a stock pulley and a lighter pulley. The stock one is 13lb 7.5oz The aftermarket one is 1lb 14.6oz This is only 14% of the stock weight. The engine has to work less hard to spin the pulley so there is less powerloss spinning it. This means more power can be used to spin the rear wheels.
  17. I have had them, they never warm up. LOL I think Fred Flintone's car wheels where softer compound. Good thing though they last forever. Well nearly

  19. I am sure you can get a scart lead switch. You wont be able to run both but should be able to switch between the 2 instead of having to pull cables out.
  20. Made my day that has. :D :D :D
  21. We should stop agreeing, its making this post boring  I wonder if we should have a PC section, where people can post up software updates and post their PC problems.
  22. Hi Dave, Good to see another North West person. There is a member on the forum who lives in St Helens and I am from Wigan. We also have a member who lives in Billinge.
  23. Its usually the pressure sender. They dont last forever and at £80 each they are not replaced when needed. Common faults with the pressure sender cause it to work at high pressure but not med to low. It reads correctly when the engine is first started as the oil pressure is hight do to the temperature but when the pressure reaches 60psi or so it drops to 0 on the gauge becasue the sender is fecked. This is why people get new dials instead of repacing the sender unit. Nissan want £80 for a sender unit while, you can get a very good gauge for that money. I have a gauge which cost £40 with a sender, and replacement senders are £7 each.
  24. It attracts a greater number of hackers because 90% of internet users use it. If you find a flaw in Firefox, which there will be, you are then limited to causing havoc on a very small percentage of internet users. So targeting IE is the easiest and obvious option. Plus the way IE is intergrated into windows means if you find a flaw in the browser you have probably got a flaw in the file browser system
  25. I have seen 240-250bhp standard though.
