BP Performance fuels
I noticed on the Petrol searching site given, that the local BP station is selling Super at the same price as Optimax. Every where else I look, Super is about 5p a litre more than Optimax. Stuart

Thank God for Traction Control
No I dont think it does. The 2 times which it has occured and I wasnt expecting it I dont think I was pushing it. The first time was on Black Ice and I was doing less than 40mph because it was cold, but a water mains birst and created a big puddle which froze. Today I wasnt trying to make the Traction come on, infact I was being very carful because it was wet and the road is quite narrow. You could say the same thing about ABS. ABS does not make you stop quicker, if you dont lock up you will stop sooner than if you did and use the ABS. BUt does ABS make people worse drivers? Stuart

My car is creeking.
Probably that then. Strange thing is I have changed the pads a few times, but the last time I really cleaned the shims so they looked like new. The mud and dirt on they probably stopped the noise :S Stuart

Best mpg ever!!??
I got 32.(something) with the boot full of stuff for holiday and a full tank of petrol so it was very heavy. It was a scorching day so the Aircon was on for a lot of the day too. Stuart

Thank God for Traction Control
I think it is the best mod I have put on my car. Usually I had to make an effort to make it come on in the dry, wet was easier but still needed some doing. Now that my car is chipped and the boost increased its working over time. Driving to and from Manchester in the rain down the East Lancs, I thought I would have a little fun on the many traffic lights. Having the Traction Control set to wet, I pulled from the lights quite fast with the accelerator about half way down, 1st gear was impossible so I changed to 2nd very soon and pressed the accelerator about half way again. The revs quickly went up and then about 4000rpm when the turbos are going fully, the wheels started spinning and the Traction Control worked it's magic, but the revs wouldnt climb because as soon as the wheels got traction and the Traction Control stopped interveening, the wheels would spin again. Its the turbos fault that is. Also today down a national speedlimit single lane road I got stuck behind a car driving at 30mph and going round corners at 25 which are normally corners you dont slow down on. So I put it in 2nd and waited for a part of the road where I can see that nothing is coming, which is a long suttle right hand curve. It came and again I pressed the accelerator down about half way and started to pass. The revs got to about 4000rpm again fine and was still climbing when I hit a puddle. Because I was turning and accelerating at the same time when I hit the puddle, the wheels spun and the back end felt like it was going to kick out into the bushes, but even before I knew what was happening, the Traction Control worked its wonders controlling the wheel spin until I was out the puddle and I just carried on my way. From inside the car all I heard was the engine popping and a very slight twich from the rear. It was only until a few seconds later that I realised that the Traction Control actually stopped the back end kicking out big time, and personally I dont think I was pushing my car hard. This is the 2nd time that I think the Traction Control has my car from going into the scenery, saving my car and probably my life. If you dont have it, get it!!!!! Stuart

Forum Trackday set back :(
Donnington is a good track but it is more expensive that an airfield day. But if people are prepaired to pay the extra Im game. Dave I thought you where bothered about close barrirers. You ever seen Druids at Oulton? I have seen many a Touring Car written off by those barrieres. Again Oulton will be about the same cost as Donnington. Any more peoples thoughts? Would you like Elvington or try some where completely different? Stuartr

NZR: Villeneuve
Jacques is a perfect example that the car is the most important thing in a F1 championship now. When he was at Williams he was magnificent and a championship contender. He moves to another team and he struggles for points. I dont think he driving abilities deminished to each extreme in a change over, just that the gap between the top cars and bottome cars is huge. My car is creeking.
No it is 100% from the front of the car. I have heard T-Tops creak before, I have heard the ice on the T-Tops smash when I went over a speed bump with the car flexing  I am thinking its the brakes now, because when I release the brakes slightly to move forward in traffic when I am on a hill, the brakes make a creeking noise when I start to roll and then it stops when I completely let go of the brake. The noise occurs about a tenth of a second before I come to a stand still when I break and exactly the same noise occurs when I pull off. I shall try to explain the noise. When you have a greeky door, when you open and close it slow the creek turns into lots of very small pops of greeking noise and not 1 long constent creek. When I brake I get 2 or 3 little pops of a greeking noise and when I pull off again, I get 1 or 2 there. Its only started doing it in the past 2 days or so. It could be the polly bushes that was my first though, but I would have thought they dont move that much. But saying that then times when the noise occurs, braking and pulling off is a time where there is stress on the things. Hmmmm, interesting. Stuart

poly bushes
No you grease the whole of the bush before you put it in. :S It makes them go in easier and it stops them from creeking. Stuart

Forum Trackday set back :(
I asked the company who do the track days about prices and dates for Binbrook and he doesnt want us to have our first track day at Binbrook. He says it is not a good track to have a large group of beginers on and said Elvington is perfect for us. What you reckon we should do then? I dont mind having it at Elvington, but I would have prefered Binbrook because it looks better and is more central for people to meet. Please post your thoughts. Stuart

Bet ya can't beat this insurance quote!
I am with firebond. I dont know about imports needing a tracker, but with normal insurance policies being that cheap come companies think its a Z31, the 300ZX before we have now. Its a lot cheaper. I have heard a few stories on here of people insuring their car only for a few months later to get a letter saying their insurance has doubled becuase they had the wrong car put in. But if this is your 2nd car and only doing it for 3000 miles that still sounds cheap but more like it. Stuart

Erm, are you SURE you want to fit NOS on your 350Z?
And people on here have BLITZ, HKS, Greddy, K&N etc stickers on their car, but they dont recieve any money from it. NOS is great, in small doses its fine, but have too much and it will easliy blow an engine. I dont think that you are running anywhere near as much NOS as drag car.

When I slow down or accelerate slightly, the front of the car makes a creeking sound. I cant feel any movement just loud creeking like a door opening. Any ideas any one? Stuart
