  1. Isnt that the det sensor in the middle? You can see the top of the plug. Stuart
  2. I realy doubt it is availible, its was well over a year ago. Was the best looking Z I have seen. The engine hadn't even been worn in. Stuart
  3. It is hard to say. The prices have been coming down as more and more are imported into the country. I really doubt there are more than a hand full of 97+ spec in this country. They are rare cars, and more and more are going through crashes and scrap. I think Zs have reached the bottom price. You can get them for £2000, but they are really bad conditioned ones while the good conditioned ones of the same age are going for £5000-£6000. Give it a year or 2 and the price will start to go up as the old import modles start to dry up. Its the Japanese import market which has caused the price to plumit, but its probably the reason why I can afford one at the moment so I cant say too much. As a price guide, there was a 1999 spec Z 2 seater, TT hard top for sale about 2-3 years ago and it was going for £19,995. It had 600 miles on the clock too. Stuart
  4. You are better off asking a good importer that question. Try JapCity.com. Tell them what you want and all they can do is watch out at the acutions for you and bid on your behalf. I really doubt you will find a Z in this country that young. I must warn you that there are not many Zs that young in the world and all will be Japanese. So you are trying to find a year of Z which didnt have many sold, and a particular model. Also the way the TAX/MOT system in Japan works, 6 year old cars are really when they start to come into this country. So you are hoping that there is some one willing to part with their Z too. But like I suggested get intouch with JapCity.com and see what they say. If you do get one, you must show it off to us. We will be all very jealous. :D Stuart
  5. Yeah. Didnt the owner buy it and then got it stolen a few hours after and didn't have it insured? Stuart
  6. I thought it got stolen though :(
  7. Define compressor noise. Like the sound of a compressor engine or the hiss sound? Could be a few things. May be the centre propshaft bearing worn out causing the shaft to vibrate. Could be your exhust rattling against something, or the heat sheild lose. Stuart
  8. The ones from Wiseco from the shelf for the Z32 may not have which way to put the pistons but these are marked which was is forward. Could you hear Cletus and Brandeen in the background then? Stuart
  9. I would get a dealer to do it. They are *******s to get back in the right position. :(
  10. I removed the petrol tank from my car by those straps. I only removed the strap from the back of the car and didnt touch the strap more to the inside. But I dont remember thinking anything had to be taken off. Maybe the heat sheild has to come off first to make things easier, but its only held on by 4 bolts. I am sure the back bolts are very easy to get too. You just need a long extention for your ratchet. Stuart
  11. it wasnt flawed. I read that the pistons worked fine and there are no problems with them. They just created more noise that stock for some reason. There was no drop in performance or reliability just people didnt like the noise. Z1 then sent a spec of piston for use in the 300ZX. Wiseco apparently may not change their spec to the ones Z1 one uses. Stuart
  12. I think I have seen it before. Is it the one with a load of vents on it. Like loads on the bonnet and the front bumper has more fins than a Lion Fish? Has a nasty spoiler on too. Bit like the racing ones you get but black and plasticey. Think it has bright red interior too. Stuart
  13. I think basically there wasnt enough business coming from here for him. 98% of the people on here own Zs and the 1.5% are looking for a cheap Z and the 0.5% are willing to pay for a really good one. Remember that blue 2 seater? Im still drooling :D
  14. Not enough blow jobs for me.
  15. I am sure you pay tax on the shipping as well which I find discusting. Lets consider that 90% of the shipping service is done in another country but we pay tax on the full amount of shipping considering they cost from the airport to your house will cost £10. Stuart
  16. This is the person who was ready to throw in the towel a few weeks ago. Stuart
  17. 25th? My engine will be out by then and in bits. I hope. I dont know if that is a :D or a :(.
  18. Ask Jalox / NEPerformance from the traders section. He is the Carbon Fiber man.
  19. The standard recirc valves are good for over 500bhp. I think SE chips are only £125 from SE aren't they? Have you got an uprated clutch? It wont last long with a boost increase. Stuart
  20. Thats what it all boils down to in the end. And not only is the 300 faster in a straight line I say it is faster around a track too :D Stuart
  21. What is stock compression? 8:1?
  22. Errrr, sort of, but would like confirmation first ;)
  23. does any one have any info on where each ring goes? There are a lot of rings and all seem to be different/made of different stuff. :S
  24. I am using standard gaskets for that reason MAC said. Plus did any one read the write up on TT.net? Some mechanic wrote about the 300ZX engine and said that you should always use the Nissan stock gaskets. Others just dont work. The pistons I got from the US. They are not Wiseco's ones for the 300ZX, even though they do a set for them. The place I got them from sent off the spec they wanted for a piston to Wiseco and these pistons are the result. However they only do 87.5 and 88mm. 88mm is 3.1 litre  I got the 87.5mm so it will be larger than stock but not 3.1. Cant be that far off though can it? How can I work it out? Anyway. I got the Pistons from Z1. http://www.300ZX.com. Pistons are $540 and shipping was $55. With the exchange rate as it is, its less then £350 for the set, which includes rings. Lets consider when I was looking at options for my car, I was looking at £150 for a set of rinds a lone from Europe. I actually got my pistons for cheaper, as they put stuff on Ebay every now and then. I am sure they would have put some stuff up yesterday considering it was a free day. Stuart
