  1. A lot of places ask for a tracker on Imports. If the insurance company has asked for one, you dont get one and then it gets stolen, you wont be insured. An immobiliser can be by passed. It takes time to do. The problem is you dont have an alarm so the person will have longer to work on it. You should get a good immobiliser and alarm, but if the insurance company want a tracker you better get one. You say you may never use it, and I hope you never need to. But if you alarm it and it goes missing its gone and there is less than a 50% chance of getting it back. If it has a tracker, the police can find where it is and follow it. Stuart
  2. Its where the group RR was last month. Its in Kenilworth, just south of Coventry
  3. Excelent. I am going to go there when my engine is finally together and run in. I think you better change your sig now. :D Should say THOR Custom ECU, not JWT! :D
  4. HA!. I have a 9600 baud modem in the garage. Try installing the SP1 first as most updates are on there. The problem with MS UPDATE, is it will install loads of patches and then install the SP1. Stuart
  5. Did you splash some one while you where in your car? I think you really peeved them off as the normal responce is to have a cold bucket of water thrown over you!
  6. Or a bucket of sand. Try getting that off without scratching it.
  7. I drove an auto and I didnt really like it. It was OK but there where many things which I missed from having a manual. I like changing gears when I want to. I like the keep in in 2nd when having a play around and keeping it in high revs. The only way of doing that in an Auto is to press the hold button, and even then if I lightly accelerate to 5000rpm or so, it will change gear anyway. When I have finished press the hold button again. That doesnt seem very automatic. The only other option is to put it into 2nd which again, defies the whole reason for an automatic. Pulling out on the motorway. An auto has the kick down, rises the revs and the pulls off. On a manual I can keep the car in 4th or 3rd when I see a gap coming up, foot down and I have instant power. No delay. But its completely down to personal preferance. Besides my left leg got bored when I drove an auto.
  8. Get some one sitting in the car keep pressing the accelerator up and down and ahve some one looking at the cables while you are doing it. You have a better chance at seeing where its catching. It is probably what Andy said.
  9. There are 2 witnesses who saw him do it against his 1. Try to find the woman again and report him. Or just turn up at his door with a bucket of cold water and throw it on him when you see him. Or just a bucked of paint over his car.
  10. best for some one to have a look at the throttle cable while another person presses the cable down a few times. Hopfully you will see where it is sticking.
  11. Nope. There is no mention of it anywhere.
  12. Well the original Scoobies are XR2i's
  13. Pinking is the same as detonation. Its when the fuel ignites before it should. I think the damage is caused by 2 shockwaves of the ignition of the fuel before it should happen and ignition of some fuel when it should. The 2 shock waves collied causing damage. That is what you can hear. I read it on the internet a while ago. You can try some injector cleaner as they may be blocked. Resetting the ECU may help. The usual culprit are the O2 sensors Stuart
  14. Apparently the rear suspention on a UK Z stiffens up when the car reaches a certain speed. The one click causes the solinoids to stiffen the suspention. It does work. I only notice it when pulling away. The car hardly sits down then the hand brake is clicked up 1
  15. When I got mine it had the HICAS removed so I cant say
  16. Its the clutch slave cylinder. I dont think there is anythink you can do just replace it. Check the clutch fluid level, it may be low. You dont want air getting into it.
  17. Its because they quote what they want to make from it. And they are hoping people probably forget that and when they get 2 quotes, one £300 inc.VAT and the other £260+VAT, most people will go for the £260 one cos it sounds cheaper until they work out the VAT
  18. As you are sitting. If you open the bonnet too, on the main beam along the front of the engine, it has R and L prinited on it

I agree. Go for a good car. Its more important to get a sound car than to worry about the box. By the sounds of it you will be happy with either. This should make things easier for you as you have a larger choice of cars.
  20. Skyline wheels are OK, well R33 ones are at least and I think there is some one with R34 wheels on.
  21. Its that simple
  22. I have seen ones like that before, and the ones I have seen have been expensive. You got a good one there
  23. You can see a UK oil cooler. Its the little one right at the front. The one behind the black fan is the air con radiator I think the one on mine is a Calsonic.
  24. I think that is the Air Con radiator you are discribing. An oil cooler only tends to be 6-7 inches high and about 10 inches long
