Looking for a 300zx
Well as for what to look out for, if it's not on the buying Guide, then I'd say nothing more than any other car you are looking to buy! Model wise, well there are a few different types that are available.... UK Models; Twin Turbo 2+2 (LWB) Targa top JDM Models; Twin Turbo 2+2 Targa Top Twin Turbo 2+0 Targa Top Twin Turbo 2+0 Slick Top Non-Turbo 2+2 Targa Top Non-Turbo 2+0 Targa Top Non-Turbo 2+0 Slick Top Non-Turbo 2+0 Convertible I think that about covers the models. The Uk models have wider rear wheels, are considered cheaper to insure, but also rust more than the JDM models. You also have front fogs on JDM's and rear fogs on UK. From a distance you can tell whether a zed is a 2+2 or a 2+0 by the position of the fuel filler flap, it is behind the rear near side wheel arch on a 2+2, and infront of the arch on a 2+0 (you can also tell by the shape of the rear quarter glass, but you really need to know your Zeds for that ;) ) I'll post a coupl of links up in a min for help as well HTH Dave

T-top tints....UK and JDM
I don't think there is a difference between JSpec and Euro Spec as far as the T-Top fitting is concerned. And as you only want the glass anyway, the fittings would be swapped over!

What happened to the Top Gear guy?
I see where you're coming from, thought it was very suspect when it appeared here on Monday, nothing added up properly. The guy's obviously a total tw@ if he thought we'd fall for a cheap con trick like that ;) Just thought I'd missed something for a minute :D

What happened to the Top Gear guy?
As title, we had a thread in the Newbies section from a guy who alledagdley bought a Zed within half an hour of watching Top Gear on Sunday night, then it was for sale on eBay on Monday afternoon with the same details! Where's the thread gone, what happened?

Turbo rebuild question
I've got two kits en-route right now, hopefully shouldn't be too long as they are on a plane already, then got to find some time to get on with them. I want to get on with them soon though, so I'll be taking photos along the way.

Replacing Rear Crank Seal
Cheers Dave, I should of mentioned, the engine is coming out :D So is it a case of just removing the seal, no need to remove or loosen the crank?

Replacing Rear Crank Seal
As title, what's involved in doing this? Can it be done it-situ? Or does a load of stuff need to be removed in order to change it? Any and all help appreciated :D Dave

Turbo rebuild question
Right I've just made a couple of phone calls.... 1) Melett do not deal with the public, so they put me onto a company called SCM, who... 2) Told me that a STANDARD rebuild kit would be £85 each + Shipping, which works out at £177.70! Ermmm I don't think I'll bother with them!

I've Made a Start
on the headlamps....... The one in the foreground is as they came off the lamps, the one behind is part way through prep. All of the metal parts are being keyed (sanded), any rust dealt with, then they will be primed and then a coat or two of satin black applied to bring them back to their former glory. Once that is all done I'll be concentrating on the 99 spec inserts (Painting etc) and then assemble them all back together. I was hoping to clean up the plastic bodies, but nothing I have even comes close to doing this! I've used Carb cleaner, Electrical Contact cleaner and de-greaser and not a single mark has gone  anyone with an idea as to what I could use? Anyway, more photos as I progress............

HDMI connection
Yeah similar here too, I have a DVi out to HDMI, but the sound is a separate cable into the correct point on the TV, but I then can not get that sound through my surround sound amp, the only way will be for me to have the sound cable go to the amp direct. Obviously this wont work for you if your sound is coming down your HDMI lead, don't know how you'll be able to get around this unless you have a setting within your TV menu?
