Right for those of you that dont know my heater matrix is broken and is now leaking water through the vents into the drivers compartment - this will be a dash out job next week :( I now have another problem :rolleyes: - we decided to disconnect the matrix and plum the two pipes at the back of the engine into each other - enabling cold air to come through the blowers - and more imoprtantlyly i can drive the car for another week till a new matrix goes in. - after doing this i went for a short spin up the road and when i got back water was peeing down from the back of the engine On closer inspection, there is a pipe on the drivers side back of the plenum, which goes right under the plenum (ive been told its water injection ???) and this is leaking out profusely from a split by the jubilee clip. My friend has told me to replace the pipe, by removing the plenum. Could anyone tell me if all ive done here seems ok and that it all makes sence (im not a mechanic or genius at this) ? Also - do i need to purchase a gasket set for my plenum removal next weekend? and if so, where can i get one for my 1992 N/A ? And i could do with any information on any other stuff i need to replace whilst im down behined the engine too - ie. more hoses etc And regarding Andrew Duff - i need that polished plenum for next weekend mate (ie asap please) Thanks for any help gents :dance:

looks like my matrix is fubar too mate - out of interest how much did yours cost and where did you get it from ? Were you getting the same symptoms as me - water inside the car, occasional steam from under the bonnet - windscreen steaming up etc ? Thanks for any advice

I filled the rad up tip top tonight and this is quite bizzarre but i ran the car tonight and there was no water coming down inside the footwell at all ! I must have gone to 5 different places last night stopping for half hour or so and nothing !!! Plus - the rad is still full ! I did notice however that the cowling that goes along the base of the windscreen (has been split for ages - looking for a new one) had moved up and the seal had broken above the battery area ?!?!? Please tell me this could be the issue here ? on a different point - anyone know where i can get the rear lights that are on that yellow Z from ? Ps. Not Z centre

My air con pump doesnt work - so i dont use it, as it is pointless on a targa top anyway. however this is my problem : I got in the car the other day an pulled away and water came pissing down inside the car from behined the dash on the passenger side (over the ecu area) - there was loads of it but after a while (5 secs) it stopped. I thought maybe we had heavy rain and somehow it had worked its way through a line in the bulk head, however - the next day i garaged it over night (no rain etc) and the same thing happened again when i drove out of my garage. It feels and smells just like normal water - which is why i mentioned the bit about my air con pump not working Anyone got any ideas ? I did have a water leak from the matrix hoses - but this was solved between the first incident and the second - so its nowt to do with the matrix pipes I would greatly appreciat any help or ideas as to WTF this is Cheers guys, Mike :hyper:

I had the same problem a while back so i removed all the pipes running to and from the induction (3 on ech side - six in all) i replaces them all with silicone jobbies and it worked fine. Any splits in these will cause crap tickover

Can anyone tell me if tt brake rotors (front) are the same size as N/A's ? Only i wanna upgrade my rotors (on my N/A) but everywhere seems to only sell TT ones Thanks for any help

make sure you have a decent air fuel meter - to gauge wether your running lean - max i would run is 100 shot - its not worth it for the extra 50 bhp and one dead motor ! Make sure your car is running sweet before you go and stick it on - as any flaw will be amplified if its pushing out loads more power ! Most of all - good luck - NOS is the way

thanks for the help mate - does anyone know if 19's fit straight on the Z with no arch work ??? I want something ideally like 19 x 8.0 on the front and 19 x 9 on the rears - but no one can tell me if they will fit !!
